Vanquish is pretty fun but I can't help but think that it would be way better if it was on the PC. As it is I'm enjoying it but I doubt I'll want to revisit it like Bayonetta or W101.

When Kamiya first beat a game at the arcade, “I had the gallery behind me, and to be honest, I really wanted to watch the ending of the game. But if you could beat a game and stand up and walk away that was really cool. I had a gallery behind me, so I had to stand up to walk away from the game. As I’m standing up and I’m walking away from the game, I’m looking at the ending screen thinking, ‘I really want to watch this,’ but I had to stand up because I had to do the cool thing.”

Ugh this thread is breaking my heart because of the sales figures. Wonderful 101 sold less than a hundred thousand? As in less than a tenth of DmC? There is no justice in the world. :( I never understood the control complaints, just use the right stick you goobers.

I do love the game to bits though, doing the stuff to get the extra characters before playing hard mode (perfect driver is a pain in the rear end but somehow really fun- I'm hoping that the "Operation Annihilation" bottlecap is just for all secret missions in a playthrough and not everything on all difficulties because I really don't feel like doing the secret missions on easy mode). It just clicks for me, almost more than Bayonetta or Revengence since I'm pretty fond of having a diverse set of tools I can pull out at anytime, and frankly Bayonetta is overwhelming as hell. It's really fun but I almost feel unworthy when I play it, like the game is saying "we give you all this stuff to use, and this is what you do with it?" (only Dante in Devil May Cry 4 has given me a similar feeling).

But yeah, this game is really, really good- I'm kind of glad Platinum games are so chock-full of secrets and really drat good combat since they really do encourage playing through the same level again and again.

That said, gently caress mission 6-B with it's shooter section (and I'm not too fond of the flashback either, but after the first time I went from outright hating it to tolerating it) and the first third of 7-A where you only have ten people. Those are just such incredible black marks on such a fantastic game.

You have to do all missions on all difficulties, including easy and very easy.

Yeah, I still haven't unlocked that one.

Unf those Famitsu scans. Is it too soon to post a dedicated Bayo 2 thread?

Well tbh the game is out in Japan in a few days. I doubt many of us have Japanese Wii U's but hey its something to consider since streams will be popping up. Since the wait is only a month I won't be spoiling myself on content this time.

I was thinking about making it myself but you'd probably do a better job all things considered. As a nobody, you have my blessing.

You haven't played Vanquish until you've played through God Hard and the challenges, that's where the real game shines. gently caress the final boss on God Hard though, don't bother. I beat it, but its really just a matter of luck and some skill and being familiar with their attack patterns. But yeah, the main game doesn't do it justice, please play though God Hard. The game is a materpiece.

(late but) The final boss on Vanquish on God Hard is fantastic. No doubt it's unbelievably difficult and very frustrating, but it also pushes the game's mechanics to their absolute limits. I think that fight in particular is the thing that proves Vanquish to be a real masterpiece.

Korra is very good and if you don't own a WiiU will temporarily fill the Platinum-sized hole in your heart but it's definitely a B-effort, like they worked on it while taking breaks from making Bayonetta 2. At budget pricing though it's solid as gently caress.

[he says, running away]
Korra is good but surprisingly hard on Normal difficulty, especially for a kids' cartoon game. Enemy benders will rip you apart if you run out your dodges or don't counter. I got mostly golds in Wonderful 101 and I'm averaging silvers in this one.

Definitely filling my Platinum-brand action craving, especially once I discovered dodge offset is a thing.

Yeah, Korra isn't a $60 effort or even really a $40, but it's completely $15 worth of fun.
