Does anyone have any tips for how I should be using my inn stash? Within about 20 minutes I was all but encumbered and I don't really have any reference point for what I need to be hanging on to.

If you're not planning on using it in the field then put it in the stash. You can enhance items using materials from your stash, they don't need to be in your inventory. I recommend carrying a few skeleton keys (shackles + various ores) around with you because if you don't you'll inevitably end up wishing you had.

tooooooo bad posted:So if I want to play a Magic Archer it's best to build to it from a Mage or Sorcerer? Their main damage stat is magic? You can build a magic class from Striders as well. They gain decent magic stats while leveling. Best spot I found for rats so far is the well in the starting town. Just don't go very deep unless you're prepared for a challenging fight.

I really have no problem switching myself and my pawn's classes. The first few levels of the vocation suck, but once you reach about level 6 the damage is just fine.

So what's up with the command chair? The questions seem to change so I can't always control every aspect of my pawn. I'm sure some people have accidentally picked "talk more" but I can't seem to get the question to come up again. As for my mage pawn, I've been picking things like "guard me the most, attack my enemy" but I haven't seen anything specifically about not being a dipshit and charge first in your robes and wizard hat. Do you just have to hit the chair regularly as you quest to really mold them or is it simply a matter of only equipping your mage with heal/cure spells if you want to them to JUST heal?

Yeah, this is the only aspect of this game I hate, that you have to constantly keep reusing the command chair until you get the question you want.

Your skills are tied to your weapon in each hand. Fighters get six, for example - three for sword, three for shield. Warriors have one two-handed weapon, hence, only three skills. Three loving powerful skills. I don't particularly agree with it but it's not out of nowhere.

They should have taken the easy way out and given warriors shouts to use with the left hand. Or given them a horn and let them toot a horn if married to the idea that an item has to be in their hand.

Where the sam hell is Valmiro? I'm chilling at the bandit camp in Vestad Hills, I got the grimoire already, but dude's nowhere to be seen. The map mark seems to indicate he's somewhere in the main campgrounds, but he's not down there. Is he below the encampment somewhere?

I was originally going to go staff and bow for my Magick archer, but I'm finding that the spells just kind of suck compared to bow. None seem to have the range necessary to make up for their long charge times, and it seems like melee would make more sense. Is it worth sticking with staves at all, if I came into this from Strider? Or are daggers definitely the way to go, with magic best saved for a later playthrough as a sorcerer specifically? ... mostly, I dropped daggers because they took ensnare. drat, do I wish I could ensare as a Magick archer.

Not since Sacred 2 have I been attacked by so many Wolves at one time, dozens of the things came running out of the darkness, closely followed by some bandits and a few goblins, my Main Pawn Tank had some fun there. In other news, I'm playing as a Strider, with a female Conan as my buddy and 2 mages for healing and spell flinging, so far its going pretty well, its not half as hard as I thought it would be as enemies really hate arrows.

BlanketCar posted:Should I be in Gran Soren accepting lots of quests from the board? Eh, that's debatable and you might want to have someone farther along than me to chime in. There have been some mention of quests eventually expiring but I haven't had any do that yet. And I haven't seen people complain about it of late. I think a lot of the board quests are open world kill quests (like Kill 36 skeletons) which I'm pretty sure are fine to grab since you don't know exactly when you'll doing them, I'd imagine they won't expire any time soon but that's just me guessing, to be honest. The board also has the above mentioned escort quests which are long and grueling. I made the mistake of doing the Shadow Fort escort quest pretty much right after I first got to Gran Soren and it was a long crazy journey filled with me running away a lot. But you'll get great gear for a warrior for escorting ser berne and a fighter for merceades. "Troublesome Tome" is another quest that took me waaaaaay off track, was long as hell, and had me running to practically the most extreme section of the map. So I might hold off on that one initially if you get it, as well. But ultimately it's up to you and again, I'd see what these higher level goons say about it. As far as quests at your level, I would imagine that sticking closely to the main story quest would invariably take you to places where the monsters are at your level. And at level ten yes, you should be in Gran Soren, and following the main quest from there which I think is "Lure of the Depths" or something where you go under Gran Soren. I think you get it from Barnaby in the Pawn guild, in the Crafters district. -Blackadder- fucked around with this message at 17:33 on May 25, 2012 |

Oh man, just had an awesome time fighting the griffin in the Bluemoon Tower. I hiked over there and managed to squeak out a victory against some extremely assholish bandits and night had already fallen by the time I reached the gates making the ruins awesomely spooky. I wonder if the first scripted encounter area is always dark and stormy when you get there though. Has anyone gone through the place at daytime? It just seemed to fitting how there was all this lightning going on and then in the lull just afterwords dawn broke just in time for me to ascend those long stairs with my bros for the final showdown. Also, I'm glad that I decided to give the grimoire to Steffen instead of making a forgery like I was thinking about doing, since he shows up to help. I thought those quests were just random filler and never expected anything to come from doing them, this game really is full of nice little touches.

I'm loving this thread (and the game to boot). "Why are the pawns female?" *makes female pawn* "B-b-but mine's different." I have a female pawn and a female main character at the moment, based on my "good" and "evil" Shepards from ME. Dorky as gently caress. But after borrowing someone's giant bearded mage and seeing the accidental Harry Potter on the last page, I really want to make Harry and Hagrid for my next playthrough.
