God drat, the Fury owns. Playing really offensively is the way to go. I was kicking so much rear end. Of course, the game timed out during Wave 11 so none of it mattered, but still.

Normally I'd avoid the gun like the plague, but when it can strip the shielding off a phantom (or two) in one shot, I can one-hit the bitch with the throw/annihilation field. I just wish I could run a Talon and Acolyte as the same.

It's too bad that this trick wouldn't work with the Justicar or Drell classes; it might be amusing to join a bronze game and roleplay as a poltergeist who levitates everything in sight while making "woooooOOOoooo" noises.

I call this bug fury first person mode. It happens nearly every time I play her now. Its actually kinda fun for a while to have a new perspective, and you can fix it by dodging or getting a shield boost from a destroyers pylon. I had a much worse bug yesterday as a batarian soldier. I was playing gold cerberus on London and the only enemies I could see were engineers and atlases. Even worse I couldnt take cover, if I pressed space to crouch behind a wall I would immediately pop up again. Needless to say I got my poo poo pushed in by phantoms which apparently didn't exist as far as my game was concerned.

I'm not so sure, playing it actually reminded me how good mass effect is compared to most of these coop games. In mann vs machine the game spawns ~50 enemies who walk forward in a swarm and your goal is to output as much damage as possible to kill them before they reach your base. That's pretty much tower defense without the towers and it's quite boring in my opinion as you're essentially constantly firing while backpedaling. Mass effect is a lot more action packed and intricate and the arpg elements like combos richen it quite a bit. Granted ME3 is good because it's an excellent SP game you can play with your friends and not because they did anything special with the coop, but an excellent sp game is a good basis for a coop game.

I probably put about 1500 hours into TF2, it's a good game but it's just too crowded and chaotic for my taste these days. 24 players is a lot as it is and then they started putting out nothing but payload maps which funnel all the spam into one corridor forever (picture a Platinum drone escort objective that spans the length of the map).

Well, I just got the piranha, but it's too late to go into a game and use it. I do have a couple of total newbie questions though, mainly because I played adept all the way through single player and the first character I played in multi was a human adept. 1. What's a good build for the turian sentinel? I was going to go with everything but tech armour, since it sounds like having warp and overload could be handy for high level jolly co-op. However, tech bursts seem to be a bit finickity. Leading to... 2. What techs lead to a tech burst, or more clearly, what creates a tech burst most reliably? I guess the question is begging for someone to say "Google it", but having played the adept, I find that in a rush (and I'm playing Xbox, so it might be the less precise aiming), shockwave is more reliable for setting off the BE, plus it can travel through walls. So what are the reliable ones, and am I likely to get many tech bursts with overload? 3. I have noticed that my turian doesn't do the "combat roll" you usually get with a double tap of the action button. Is this a glitch or is it just because the class is a bit heavier? I am still only just mastering bronze level, but have got to the point where I am not too bothered about going up against a banshee or brute solo with my adept at least. Warp and shockwave combo is brutal. I might promote him though and rebuild. Would you guys recommend this? I was thinking maybe just having one point in singularity and maxing the rest. It seems good for crowd control initially, but if I can warp and then shockwave, it has a similar knockdown effect (or even just shockwave itself).

If you're just learning the Turian Sentinel I'd go with 6/6/6/4/4 and you can play with that for a while to learn it. Tech Armor is great for toughness and power synergy and also makes a nice stagger button for Phantoms/Hunters. Overload is a very reliable AoE tech burster (it primes everyone in the chain). Not dodging is your HP/Tech Armor toughness tradeoff

Tech bursts are easy, all it takes is hitting an overloaded target with almost any ability. Overload + warp will do it, just make sure you have a fast enough cooldown and are close enough for the warp to hit before the effect runs out. Also, if you took the overload chain, only the initial target of the overload gets primed for a tech burst, anyone who gets hit in the chain isn't.

There's a new tool on the BSN, which will tell you if the pack got awarded or if you got skipped over. If you don't have your pack, you can file a report and it'll tell you to wait 48hrs for a response. But after filling it in the morning, I bugged customer service later in the night and got my pack right away on the first day anyway. Beats waiting around until friday to see if the pack will turn up or not.

For some reason the game has bombarded me with Drell Adept, and while it did get me to play the class and find that it's sort of fun, I just want a Quarian Engineer or a robot. Or an N7 class. Will I have a chance of getting the regular characters I want with SPs and PSPs or will that only give me N7s? I definitely want to try some of those out but it would be nice to also have a chance at getting the normal characters I want in the same item.

As of the Earth DLC, character cards will stop appearing once you've maxed out all their customization options, although normal Human cards will pop up every now and then for some class XP. You can unlock any characters from packs. Most are Gold (Rare) and a few are Silver (Uncommon). PSPs give you the best opportunity for unlocking new characters.

I can't appear to make the N7 Fury work properly. When I go to try to make things explode, I get shot and die. When I stand back to try to shoot them, I get shot and die. Do I need 6 in fitness, is there something I'm missing? This was silver and I couldn't even move without just falling flat on my face and dying. I thought the idea was I needed to be up in faces with annihilation field and make them explode. Then I died over and over and decided I didn't want to play that anymore.

Zuriel147 posted:1. What's a good build for the turian sentinel? 6/6/6/4/4. Tech armor goes Durability->Power Damage->Power recharge. Warp goes Detonate->Expose->Pierce. Overload goes Chain Overload->your choice->Shield Damage. Some people don't like Neural Shock, because enemies that fall over can be harder to shoot, and the more dangerous enemies are all immune. On the other hand, an enemy affected by it will stay down for at least a couple seconds longer, which can sometimes be useful. Also if you maintain a low weight (and you should, since you're a caster) the recharge speed isn't an issue. Take power damage & capacity for your racial passive, and durability for fitness. Building your class in this way gives the best compromise of casting and durability, and the class's powers are great. Warp will inflict good damage and reduce the effect of armor, while overload strips shields and barriers and gives you some crowd control from the chain upgrade. However, tech bursts are a bit iffy (explained below) and you can't do biotic explosions on your own, so what your powers are really doing is setting enemies up to be finished by your teammates or by your guns. The Hurricane is a great complement to this class, but since you say you're just starting out you probably don't have one. You should use whatever weapons you have available that don't drop you below +150% or so. There's also an alternative build that I haven't used in ages because it's less versatile, but I used a lot when I first got the class. You ignore warp and max everything else. This gives you a lot of survivability from tech armor and fitness, great bonuses to guns from the Turian racial passive, and overload is a wonderful utility power for crowd control and barriers. This is a little easier to play at you might consider it until you're comfortable with the game and you "graduate" to more complex tactics. quote:2. What techs lead to a tech burst, or more clearly, what creates a tech burst most reliably? Overload primes a tech burst on whoever it hit, and if the same enemy is hit with a different offensive power (i.e. warp) inside a window of a few seconds, it will go off. With the Turian sentinel this is sometimes hard to do, because with tech armor active the cooldown on overload will usually be only barely shorter than that window, meaning you'll often miss the opportunity. It's a lot easier to achieve with a human engineer running combos off overload-incinerate. quote:3. I have noticed that my turian doesn't do the "combat roll" you usually get with a double tap of the action button. Is this a glitch or is it just because the class is a bit heavier? Turians, Batarians, and Krogans don't get combat rolls, although Turians can roll between pieces of cover if they're the right distance from one another.
