The wife got a new ride last weekend. Tint installed. I've always liked white Golfs with dark tint. Nice boots. It was muddy at the marina/lake last weekend. It replaces her old '05 545i. Kill-9 fucked around with this message at 21:27 on Sep 24, 2012 |

Nav, keyless entry/start, Dynaudio sound, the works. She's looking to get a Stage 1 tune soon, nothing major, should get it around 300hp. She'll move on to more fancy mods later possibly. She's not really into racing, she just likes to go fast on back roads when no one's around. She does think it's funny when teenage boys pull up to gawk at it and realize there's a 40-mumble-mumble year old woman behind the wheel. I'll try to get some better pics of it this week. Somewhere out of the rain or garage.

My new (to me) children / dog / junk moving machine. 2009 Ford Mondeo 2.0TDCI Titanium X It's about the nicest car I've ever owned, and we got a decent price on it. It's not quite as quick off the line as the 1.8t A6 Avant it replaces but neither is it constantly breaking or having bits fall off it. It feels larger than the A6, more boot space, more head room and loads of space in the back. I need to take it somewhere nice and take some proper photos. I think the black is good as a sleeper color as well, I don't think the white shows off the lines very well. But it's quite a nice car.

Other than that I think it was overall a good car, which is why it was used as a police car for so long.

This is my ride. I'm a bit late, have had it for 11 months already. It's a MY09 Holden VE Commodore 60th Anniversary, which is a variant of the original car the USDM Pontiac G8 was based on. The 60th Anniversary models were sold in 2008 and 2009 as a premium trim package of the Omega base model, and included such luxuries as a chrome grille, body colored external door handles, leather seats (with matching door trims), a leather steering wheel reverse parking sensors, special edition 18" wheels, integrated Bluetooth kit, and brushed aluminium interior door handles. (Click to embiggen the pictures...) Modifications include: Window tint. Slotted brake rotors, uprated pads, and ATE blue brake fluid. Falken FK452 tyres. HSV R8 Clubsport exhaust with billet tips. Airhammer CAI (with red joiners because red is faster). Stubby antenna. Leather/chrome shift knob. Three LCD upper spec instrument cluster with custom white lettering/red needle illumination. Upper spec LCD head unit conversion along with complete Calais V interior panels and trim, which is soon to be fitted with an internal USB media player. All of the old interior parts that were reused had their LEDs changed from green to white to match the head unit and cluster. Complete upgrade to dual-zone climate control, including the addition of all the extra sensors and wiring, and converting my single zone heater box to dual zone by separating the internal blend doors and fitting the extra blend door actuator - I'm apparently the first G8/VE owner in the world to have done this. iPod integration kit. Flip key. All the programming for these upgrades was done without a GM Tech2, I used an EEPROM programmer and individually reprogrammed the cluster, head unit, and HVAC module's EEPROMs to customize them and write my VIN in. To give you some idea of what's changed in the interior alone, here is a picture of the interior when I bought the car, and here is a picture of the interior now from roughly the same angle. I have no idea how much power it's making, stock is just short of 250HP, but it's definitely making more than that with just the CAI and exhaust... I'm fitting an intake manifold insulator and a set of headers in the next few weeks, along with getting it tuned, and a dyno run so I have some actual numbers. Feel free to ask any questions! _firehawk posted:Why do you have carpet on your dash? That's a dash mat. They're used a lot over here to minimize heat damage from the sun. I personally have it because the bare dash reflects a lot of glare on to the windscreen, and it's duller and far more diffuse with the mat in place.

It already came with a lot of the stuff I wanted, so I just kept going. As it is, I've already got everything a Berlina has (and then some) except for the fog lamps, and I don't have the ugly rear end treatment the Berlina and Calais got. Besides which, where's the fun in just buying a car... There's no challenge in that! _firehawk posted:I see you rocking the mud flaps too. I too have the mudflaps on my G8. It looks a bit weird. A million different problems with fuel/air mixture can cause an o2 sensor code.

What's wrong with the wheel? I've driven a ton of new-gen Fords as rental cars and I love the ergonomics of the cruise and volume buttons. Ford's interiors are great compared to other domestic cars and I've driven almost every one of them.
