The gang couldn't sell guns legally because they are a gang, and also because they are felons. They can't even own a gun.

h_double posted:Sutter's said the show is loosely based on Hamlet, and will follow that arc until the very end, so it's pretty much a given that Jax and Clay will hang in there until they meet their demise in the finale. This show is good illustration of why dramatic tragedy only really works in a tight, succinct format like a 2-3 hour stage play or movie -- anything much more than that and the central tragic conflict can't keep building inertia and turns into a mess. So, will Tara commit suicide then? Honestly, how many Sons do you guys see standing at the end of this cluster? Also, what's the over/under on Tig being alive at the end of this season? If they leave it on a cliffhanger, so help me I will drive to LA and immolate Sutter.

That is the same as saying they can't sell drugs because they aren't allowed to own it. Step 1 Create front company (Clay has done this at least 3 or 4 times on the show) Step 2 Have front company apply for FFL07 Step 3 License likeness rights to front company to produce SOA guns for you. Step 4 Collect money from Front Company's sale of firearms. AT no point are the felons or the gang 'technically' in charge of the company, guns etc but they still reap the profits. This kind of poo poo happens all the time.

Fat Ogre posted:Really? A criminal gang starting up a front company to get a federal fireams license is really pushing the boundaries of "legally," which was sort of the qualifier there. It also means that it isn't anything like saying they aren't allowed to sell drugs because they aren't allowed to own them. Because that is illegal, too. edit: There is also no reason for them to do this because if they are going to just go into retail and not sell guns to other gangs, there is no reason for them to go into guns at all. Just sell motorcycles or some other random crap.

Season 1: Okay, cool, this is basically GTA: The TV series. I enjoy the great cast, the creative ridiculousness, and how it often goes against expectations (like having the crooked sheriff and stick-up-his-rear end deputy turn out to be likeable and sympathetic). Plus, Stahl is a great foil. Season 2: Holy poo poo, Henry Rollins out of nowhere. Zobel is a great villain, the Gemma stuff (and Gemma/Unser relationship) are actually pretty compelling. This is pretty good TV. Season 3: A mixed bag. The Ireland stuff is pretty dumb and drags on way too long. On the other hand, I almost always hate storylines about babies because babies are boring and an emotionally manipulative macguffin, but the whole thing with Jax and the priest was actually pretty well done. Also holy poo poo, what an amazing finale. Season 4: Oh sweet, special guest Danny Trejo. Once things get rolling, umm, err, yeah. Season 5: Facepalm: the TV series.

Have we all just checked out the show entirely, and are now watching it to roll our eyes at Jax's bro-walking and lovely accent? You know, I liked this episode... when I thought it was the finale. I was sitting here thinking "Huh, as much as I disliked certain aspects of this season, like Opie's death and the endless ENDLESS chase-with-loud-music montages (which if they'd removed would mean we wouldn't need four 90 minute episodes), that actually ended well. Clay's out, Jax has his end game in sight, there are new alliances and lots of things were left to pick up next year." Can't wait to see how they gently caress it up next week!

I sat down over a few days and watched all of S5, and my god I have no words to express the emptiness for this show. The only moment in this series I actually liked was the random sale of guns to Nero's boys where they were ambushed and all amp'd up about shooting dudes and getting away in a station wagon. Otherwise, everything else (except Opie's death) was very forgettable. Anyways, Chibs for Pres, everyone else can just piss off.
