A lovely mysogynistic website started using it as their motto, putting it on Tshirts that were always out of stock but than miraculously in stock for maximum sales. Something to do with Bill Murray as well.

My husband reads The Chive for cat and funny pictures (at least, that's all I've ever seen him look at on there), and there would be a random hot girl boob shot interspersed with the cat pictures (i.e. the article would have 30 pictures of cats and some random boob shot in the middle), which made no sense to me and I thought was pretty stupid. I guess it pissed me off too because he was looking at hot girl with boobs, but I was like, well they just threw that in there. Can't help it, it's a dumb site, whatever. So when you wrote it was misogynistic I was confused. So I decided to google "chive misogynistic"

I found things like this

:nws:http://imgur.com/2aL6Hf2:nws:

and these compilations of boob pictures are called "Future Lower Back Problems." :hurr:

This pisses me off because I actually DO have back problems from my boobs but insurance won't cover a reduction so I'm stuck with horrible posture and pain. gently caress YOU. And obviously the sexism and misogyny pisses me off, but that's a given.

Oh, and some wonderful comments on the site like "I’d let you keep it if you’d shove it down that bitch’s throat so she would shut up” ad nauseam.

Not idiots of facebook, but idiots of the internet.

Ha, ha, maybe the creators of the show did consumer research groups with unknowing bronies under the guise of "what do you like about children's TV shows" and then made THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE. Like it's a complete hatred of those bronies, and the creators know it. And they feel good about it. :unsmigghh: :getin:

Basically someone "found" papers stating that a branch of the DoJ paid people to organize protests and marches in support of Trayvon Martin.

The DOJ did send in their Community Relations Specialists. Now what do they do?

quote:

The Community Relations Service is the Department's "peacemaker" for community conflicts and tensions arising from differences of race, color, and national origin. Created by the Civil Rights Act of 1964, CRS is the only Federal agency dedicated to assist State and local units of government, private and public organizations, and community groups with preventing and resolving racial and ethnic tensions, incidents, and civil disorders, and in restoring racial stability and harmony.

CRS facilitates the development of viable, mutual understandings and agreements as alternatives to coercion, violence, or litigation. It also assists communities in developing local mechanisms, conducting training, and other proactive measures to prevent racial/ethnic tension and violent hate crimes committed on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, or disability. CRS does not take sides among disputing parties and, in promoting the principles and ideals of non-discrimination, applies skills that allow parties to come to their own agreement. In performing this mission, CRS deploys highly skilled professional conciliators, who are able to assist people of diverse backgrounds.

Clearly a bunch of agent provocateurs.

It's funny because they think Homosexuals and Bisexuals hate Heterosexuals and want them to die when it's the complete opposite. People hate bigots which often are heterosexual. And by thinking that everyone is out to get the poor heterosexuals you in turn become kind of an rear end in a top hat. Not a straight bigot but just really misguided. I can't wait until my smug atheist friends' kids are old enough to speak in full sentences.

There's already that one rear end in a top hat who's teaching his kid not only that Santa and the Tooth Fairy are not real (which is fine, you are allowed to teach your kids whatever you want I guess) but also that all religions and fantasy stories in general are false and used to make people complacent sheeple~

Kid's like three so I don't think this message is exactly sinking in but his smugass posts about correcting his child when he makes up stories about talking to dragons or whatever lead me to believe he will either a. hate his dad soon or b. become absolutely insufferable by the time he hits kindergarten.

This kind of thing makes me sad. I have a friend who plans to do this when he has kids. Telling your kids right away is just taking away the one big fun magical thing a kid can believe in before they become adults and realize how much the world sucks. The whole Santa thing is FUN! Believing in Santa is fun! This big jolly fat man comes to your house and brings you PRESENTS made by ELVES and he has a big sleigh with reindeer and there's magic and happiness and weeee! I feel like it's just kind of lovely to deprive a kid of believe in something magical like that. I remember one Christmas I heard jingling outside and there was a thumping on the roof. I was like OMG and ran into my bed to try to sleep (it wasn't easy obviously). Now of course I know that was just my dad, but back then it was WOW SANTA :) :) :)

Better yet, couldn't they have found a picture where the little girl in question isn't one of those annoying children that kicks the back of your airline seat? Also, you have to love how atheists are portrayed in this little "story". Not all of us are "oh hey, small child...let's decide their opinions on religion for them".

I waited until my kid was in third grade, if I remember correctly....right around the time he was starting to have his own suspicions. I agree, it's a cool thing to believe in when you're young...but it's also best to be ahead of the curve and not the last to find out amongst your peers.

On the one hand I feel a little bad for her just because I imagine it can be pretty tough to date when you're trans. But then again I think it's clear this person needs to work on some issues if her first reaction to someone very politely rejecting her is basically "How dare you not be attracted to me!
