I was meaning to get back to you about this, actually. I just beat it last night, completely. The game isn't bad, but it's not gonna wow you with anything innovative or super creative. The game controls well. There are some depth issues, even with the 3D on, causing me to sometimes fail jumps. That generally happened in 3D stages. Speaking of, besides 2D stages, there are the occasional 3D courses. These aren't usually some huge explorable area, just 3D obstacle courses.

The music is nice, if you are into dance/techno. Nothing memorable, but hey, better good than bad. There are three worlds with five levels each, and then a boss. There is also a Super Mario Land 3D bit where you beat the game, you get the same set of worlds but mirrored. You start from the exit and go towards the entrance, but it's slightly remixed. Usually a few more enemies or turrets here and there. The biggest catch is instead of reaching the goal, you have to find five hidden Golden Solar Chips, and then reach the exit. It's interesting, because the whole time I was playing this game, I kind of wished it was more like Banjo Kazooie/Mario 64. The whole game feels like an old collectathon platformer.

Did I mention turrets? Cause this game loves them, with little Contra bullets to go with them. Bosses are alright, but it's pretty much the same model with a different coat of paint. At least they all have different patterns and attacks, with different arenas, too. Between each Area there is a minigame, like jetskiing, skydiving, and the last Area with the final boss is a shoot-em up with a dinky gun. I think that fight was the lowlight of the game. It wasn't the controls, just the slow rear end gun you get.

I liked it, but it's hard to justify 9 USD. Try to catch it on sale. It does nothing special to the platformer genre, it does what it's suppose to very well. I had a good time with it.

Something I am curious about. When the Miiverse and your login comes to the 3DS and it merges some parts of the store...does that also count the 3DS eShop purchases toward the WiiU Digital Deluxe reward program of spending $50 gets you $5 back?

I've been playing it too, Edoraz pretty much nailed it though. It's a very solid platformer, but it's fairly bland.
If you haven't got Super Mario 3D Land yet you shouldn't even consider Jett Rocket 2

Huh, I wasn't aware that they rebooted it. That was a French/Japanese anime co-production and was hugely popular in the French 80's world along with a bunch of other Japanese Anime, some of which never got English releases at all.

Yes, you can redeem that code in either shop.

The unified account stuff they're pushing out later this year (?) is gonna make it so any funds put into one system is also available on the other, so if you redeem the $5 on the WiiU you can buy something with it on the 3DS.

It was pretty popular in the UK too, hence me helping with the Kickstarter for this.

The reason it's getting released in super speedy time is that the game was already finished for the PC in French, the KS campaign was mainly translation and porting money.

The more likely scenario is that they'll just naturally stop putting them up there once they decide to stop porting games to Wii U. They're close to turning off the tap already, it seems.

As stupid as Ubisoft has been about their eShop prices, they're also the most consistent in lowering them when the game doesn't sell (in Splinter Cell's case it took 'em about two weeks).

Surprisingly okay. Nothing special, but I'd definitely recommend checking out the demo if you enjoy the idea of things like Super Meat Boy or Dustforce put into an auto-runner. It's not as polished as those games, but the controls seemed tight enough and there wasn't any glaringly bullshit deaths that I remember, but there are the semi-blind jumps with signs telling you what abilities you're going to want to use to not die.

Definitely check out the demo before picking it up though, just to make sure it's something you'd want to play. You get a taste for the first world, the only things it keeps from you are new Gnome forms and one of the scoring metrics, but the scoring metric (completion time) depends on the first alternate gnome you unlock (gottagofast gnome) so it makes sense.

For anyone who has 3D Classics Twinbee and/or has played the original Famicom game, does the game actually have an "end" or does it loop endlessly until I game over? I checked Google and someone on another forum mentioned the original Famicom version having 64 stages even though that wouldn't make sense since every loop is five stages long unless the final loop was one stage short.

Also, the shield and spread shot with the built-in auto-fire absolutely breaks this game (until you lose your shield and hit an enemy in one of the higher levels, which makes the game go from a cakewalk to getting killed every five seconds from enemies that run into you faster than you can react :argh:).

I thought the entire premise for the series' crazy trial format is that it's some new Japanese court system overhaul designed to chew through the case backlogs and ensure a speedy decision.

I bought the original Zelda and have been playing through it for the first time in twenty years or so. I plan to do the same with Megaman and I might grab 2 and 3 as well. Granted, prior to buying a Wii U I haven't owned a Nintendo system since the SNES. Maybe it's just a dollar fifty savings but it's enough to encourage me to pick up some classic games and share them with my kids.

That said I would have loved to see Megaman X and Link to the Past being offered as well and I'm a bit disappointed that they're not.
