Sponsor stickers are basically how a company can get people to pay them to advertise their product. Same with T-shirts. Increased advertisement and now they're making even more money.

Terrible things that happened to me on my commute home. Although the poor sod in the truck was more terrible. This jackass ran a red light that had been red for long enough for at least 4 cars to pass This truck being number 5 or so to enter the intersection gets tboned and rolls towards my car. I can do nothing but watch and brace. If you look close you see the post is about 45 degrees angle because that's basically what kept the truck from crushing my front end and the cab of the truck. I get a new hood and fender. The astonishing thing is that neither of the 2 in totalled vehicles went to the hospital. I still don't understand how the guy ran the light like he did unless he was dicking around on his phone.

Note the clean air vehicle HOV sticker. The hood had another big solar panel on it too. Going by the stickers on the back, it's this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solectria_Force Sipher fucked around with this message at 17:55 on Jan 14, 2014 |

My apartment complex has a pond () in the middle of the courtyard. There is a no fishing sign. I would like to believe that they put up the sign when they built the pond, but I think somebody must've been sitting there fishing for Koi.

Basically every single story I've heard in my 14 years in Denver that starts with "So dipshit driver was apparently distracted and..." and ends with "...and at least two cars were totalled" was some dipshit running a light in the Tech Center. Yep, accidents happen in intersections elsewhere, I've seen them, and I've heard about them. But strangely, it's only been the Tech Center (and Inverness) area where I've seen or heard about people coming into the intersection at full tilt. SO glad I don't work down there. Hope you get fixed up proper, and soon.

Also here, but at least we're presumably allowed to fish in our apartment pong. No swimming or wading, though.

If a pond gets to a certain not very big size they basically have to stock it with fish to keep the ecosystem from going wildly out of whack. If it's too small that fish population won't be self-sustaining and people fishing means they need to restock it more often and at much harder to figure out intervals. Kids will fish in anything without a sign, especially if it's a short walk from their apartment. Also the Solectria guys really missed a golden opportunity not basing their product on a Chrysler cloud car.

Sipher posted:38 if it's sunny? Judging by the wiki article the original conversion was just a straight up electric car without that ridiculous solar panel. I would bet good money that the solar version has worse range under all weather conditions because holy poo poo that thing has got to be awful for the car's aero. Probably doubles the frontal area and it can't be any good for the Cd. The sad thing about seeing that is that the metro was a pretty good aero design too, that's how it got 50mpg in the 3cyl manual version. (And probably why a simple lead acid EV conversion did ok on range too.)

IIRC you can do the heart, little Texas state, & spaces/dashes/periods. On myplates, the @ is for the heart, and the * for the state. Strangely the only other special character you can type is a % sign, but it backs it out immediately, so it may be used for something else in the future or maybe a government plate.

Either that or it's a special character in your state's DMV's license plate database and they aren't sanitizing their inputs properly so they use lovely Javascript to prevent any bad inputs.

North Carolina has some awesome allowances for vanity plates. You get 8 characters, and can use special characters (some even count as a half space!). Here's the official document. http://www.ncdot.gov/download/dmv/PersonalizedSpecialCharacters.pdf
