This was his response, in case you guys want to make your own! quote:Kelly would make his Whiskey Sour with Black Velvet whiskey - which he considers fine quality. “The Ladies” recognize a man of sophistication when they see he drinks Black Velvet. If his regular store is sold out of Black Velvet, however (or if another brand is on sale) then any brand in a plastic bottle will do (2 Jiggers on average, but more so depending on the day, season, etc.)

Oh, they're totally there- and I think it's a good cartoon. The difficulty is that the poorer houses are obscured by snow and are out-of-center, so a subset of viewers will immediately think the only distinction is the lack of snow. I think the sportscar is the best indicator of the set. Darkman Fanpage posted:So who is the guy operating the crane talking to? The other crane operators? George Bush made 291 executive orders total in his presidency. 173 in term 1, and 118 in term 2. Clinton made 364 total, 200 in term 1 and 164 in term 2. Teddy Roosevelt made 1,081 in his time as president. Obama has made 168. 147 in term 1, 21 in term 2. Now tell me you aren't projecting.

This is a lot of but understanding the backstory is necessary for what I'll be posting tomorrow. In Southeast and Central Asia, things aren't great. There's war, terrorism, disease, poverty, ethnic cleansing, and endless violence. For some people living there, the only option is to flee, to become refugees. Refugees are stateless and powerless, and in many countries (such as Indonesia), they would be forced into slavery. But some nations have signed the UN Convention on Refugees, an agreement that says that refugees will be treated humanely and allowed to settle there. Here is a map of countries that have signed this agreement. What you might notice is that Australia is pretty close to a lot of these places that aren't signatories. And that some of the other nations in that region that are signatories aren't too great and may be involved in some ethnic cleansing of their own. So it's not surprising that a small number of refugees may decide to risk their lives, selling all their worldly possessions to bribe a human trafficker to get them a position on a rickety boat to Australia. That is, it's not surprising unless you're a racist piece of trash who thinks they're faking it and just doing so to bring Sharia Law to Australia and Steal Our Jobs. In that case, they aren't refugees--they're boat people. Boat people is the term for Muslims who arrive looking to make easy money on welfare while simultaneously taking all the high-end jobs. "Stop the Boats" has long been the cry of the Australian Liberal Party (the Australian equivalent to the Republicans). To this end, last year Australia's Labor Party (the Australian equivalent to the Democrats) swung far right to try to hold onto power and came up with a solution to refugees arriving in Australia by boat. They would intercept the boats in international waters, load up the passengers, and take them to Papua New Guinnea, an island nation run by a corrupt government more than happy to house an Australian "refugee processing center," in exchange for millions of dollars in aid. Children as young as 4 years old are in these "processing centers" and disease, violence, and corruption run rampant there. Theoreticallly, these processing centers are just to hold them while their refugee paperwork is filled out and their request for asylum is reviewed. However in the last year, only one refugee held in Papua New Guinnea has been granted asylum, and there is no time frame given to process the remaining 2000 held there. In any case, Labor's rightward swing wasn't enough to sway voters, and the even more conservative Liberal Party is now back in power. They have taken Labor's plan and stepped it up and are now towing the rickety boats back into Indonesian waters, where they may sink from the damage of being towed or people may starve due to spending an extra week at sea.

So why am I telling all of you this? What the hell does this have to do with political cartoons? In order to dissuade people from ever even leaving their homes in the first place, the Australian Labor party commissioned a graphic novel be made and distributed across Central Asia. This graphic novel contains no dialogue, aside from the cover and final page, which says in Pashto and Dari, two languages of Afghanistan, "If you go to Australia by boat without a Visa, you will not be settled there."* This graphic novel would tell the tale of a young Hazara, a member of an ethnic minority in Afghanistan often the victim of brutal oppression and violence, and how he ends up in an Australian concentration camp. According to a spokesperson for the Australian government, this graphic novel aims to "help people become more informed and make smarter, safer choices”. I now present this graphic novel to you.
