corn in the bible posted:You know, I still get emails from Daily KOS, and it occurs to me that Animal Nuz, terrible as it is, is a pretty good fit for how blindly cheerleading that website is. When the first Anthony Wiener crotch pic scandal broke out, they went into full on conspiracy theory mode. They had this hilariously elaborate article wherein they examine the picture and see that the watch is on the right hand, instead of the left, and showed several photos of Wiener wearing his watch on the left. Then they said this indicates that the photo was flipped, or seen through a mirror. Then they pointed out that the aspect ratio of the picture was unusual, which indicates it'd been cropped. So they concluded that someone had taken a photo of someone's crotch, from across the room at the gym. Then they started talking about how the person who released the photo had once been a moderator of a porn forum, and they explained that "Who but a pornographer would take a clandestine photo of someone else's crotch in a mirror from across the room?" I really wish I'd saved that article, because as soon as Wiener admitted that it was him and he'd taken the picture, they scrubbed it off their site.

His complaints about being systematically censored from newspapers (he thinks they are all well aware of his past, instead of just oblivious to him and think his cartoons are made by a 12 year old), his complaints about censorship from Daily Kos ("I've been drawing Obama like that for years, so why all of a sudden are they crying racist? It's because I criticized his NSA policy!" when really it's because people never saw his poo poo before), his ludicrous eBay dates he used to auction off (starting price $2000 if you live in another country, no interaction guaranteed). The one place I think Ted Rall might not have been a douchebag was in the "have lunch with me" auction. It was so ridiculous and silly and funny (you pay; i might not even talk to you; i'll give you a book, but i get to pick) that I have to believe that was a joke. Everything else about him seems like not-joke terrible behavior, though.

Daily KOS is unabashedly pro-Democrat and that's not anything they try to hide. Markos has even said that the site's mission is to further the campaigns of Democratic politicians as opposed to left-leaning ideals.

Yeah you can fault Daily KOS for a lot of things but at least you know where they stand. If it helps Democrats, they are there. For better or worse. Of course this gets ridiculous once in a while but you can count on them to blindly fight for anything that helps the Blue Team.

The worst ones are where they label really obvious ones, like Obama. Do they think people are going to see a drawing of a middle aged black man in a drawing about the president and think "gee, whose that?". I don't think there's a large chance this will ever happen (beyond the fact that change.org is lovely as a tool for actual change). The only case it's happened afaik is apartheid era South Africa, but even then I'm pretty sure FIFA gave them like 15 years before they finally suspended them. Also IDF Soldiers = Israeli soccer team? That's the same kind of disingenuous comparison as the Palestinian team to Hamas members. But hey, I'm kind of biased here, so my opinion about this isn't worth much anyways.
