I had to go through a ton of poo poo to get Reuben in here (pet deposit, extra pet rent, current vaccination records, register and license him with the new city, etc) so I need to find out how much of an rear end-pain it would be to get a new cat. Also I want to give Reuben time to adjust to a whole new house, lack of his two bros, lack of an entire second person to hang out with and all that before springing a new cat on him.

every orange cat I've met has been a giant hateful rear end in a top hat, so I don't get what the hell is wrong with all the orange cats I meet exhibit a: my brother's cat oblio  Hates visitors, only tolerates me because I come over to feed her when my brother is out of town. Walks up to me, hisses, tries to claw the poo poo out of my leg and runs off. Bitch. exhibit b: my dad's cat Roxy  Hates every other cat of his except for the retarded little brain damaged kitten we took in. Will not hesitate to maul your face if you pick her up. lives in his bedroom because she tolerates humans but not the other cats. exhibit c: my dad's cat Moose  Forget about touching him anywhere past his shoulders or else he will maul you. Will maul your leg as you walk past for no reason. Get too close to him and he starts growling. Thinks the disk activity light on my dad's laptop is a bug and will sit on his keyboard and try to bite the laptop to kill the blinking light. God forbid you need to use the computer while he's sitting on it, hope you have bandaids okay the laptop thing is funny and entirely his fault for leaving the computer open while unattended but this cat is otherwise a loving dick. Calico cats are the best cat  I can stick my face in that floof and not get attacked and it is amazing

orange cats are best. having two tuxedos currently, they're also the best, but from past experience, you really can't do any better than a big 22-pounder fat old orange tom who purrs whenever he sees you and doesn't give a gently caress about anything. you had to have been there i guess

magda went on a brief outside adventure yesterday. she doesn't really like the harness much, but seems to maybe be getting more used to it? also she only stayed outside for a few minutes; the neighbor came out of her house and scared her, so she ran back inside. also we had a plastic bag in the bedroom full of clothes we were planning to donate. jackson spent half the morning pulling all the clothes out of the bag so he could have a nap spot.  mandy  apparently my favorite record store has a section of jazz for cats ?!!

i bought a harness and leash for leili yesterday  i put the harness on her and oh my god she was extremely unhappy and ran and hid found her napping on our bed later and she seems to accept how it feels next step is to leash her and open the door and let her creep out at her own pace sorry for no pics but she seriously took off as soon as it went on, hopefully outside pics when it happens anyway here she is just doin cat thing

yesterday we went to petco for some pet stuff and saw a gray cat up for adoption. He was shaped like Ozma and colored like Pete, and he gave us hugs through the cage and demanded boops on his nose and gave gentle lil nibbles. We spent a non-zero amount of time wondering if the landlords would even notice (lease maximum: 2 pets), since he looked so much like Pete and it's not like Pete ever comes out from hiding when visitors are over anyway.
