I just dropped 4 Valks into a CW fight and was pretty underwhelmed, but it's probably because mine are still level 1. Has anyone bothered upgrading them yet? Oh, and the new behavior of the royals is going to make attacking so much more difficult

We're going to have to find out new bases and strategies, the game is quite a bit different. I'm guessing we will be using anti-air bases instead of anti-hog ones. BK is pretty bad at breaking through walls now.

I woke up to having all my purple drank storage maxed, and still having a ton of drank in collectors. I already upgraded everything I can with Drank for TH8. You did all troop upgrades and your Barracks/Dark Barracks are maxed? Congratulations! Now you get to attack non-stop with cool expensive armies and hunt gold / Dark Elixer. Arguably the most fun part of the game.

The new defensive range on BK is comically small. You can seriously kill buildings immediately adjacent to him and he'll stare at you with a (?) over his head. The AQ is slightly better since she's ranged, but due to the HP nerf she dies almost instantly. I moved my AQ to the core, and threw my BK outside my base on sleep mode. Also the royals healing is not stopped by inferno towers, which is pretty nice actually.

Honestly, I'm not sure what people were expecting. If he had the range of your entire base so you could place him in the center and he couldn't be lured outside of the walls he would be OP as gently caress. Before he had a huge range and would be lead out and unceremoniously dispatched. Now he's a 2k hp short range defensive structure. Put him by your DE, maybe he'll tank for a few seconds while your other defenses kill troops.

It's better to stick your AQ there if you have one, she will comfortably shoot over two walls ruining the attackers poo poo. I've relegated my BK to clearing duty on tougher bases, and save the AQ for minor 50%ing to ensure she is active for defenses. I'll see how things go but so far so good. You can't hog bases with an active central AQ anymore, even after the defenses are down the hogs will switch to the closest targets (buildings). Previously hogs would prioritize heros over buildings but now they don't

The best undocumented change is that when nexting through enemies it maintains your zoom level. Now you can see the whole picture right away and have fewer accidental troop drops.

I'm going to be testing out tryhard valk based armies over the next week to see if they're worthwhile. Problem is my valks, golems and jump spells are all L1. First round of testing is one golem, 20 wizs, 11 valks, 2 bloons (to lure cc), 6 WB, 1 heal 1 jump 2 rage. I'll try different valk/golem ratios, swapping out some wizs for witches, and the spell configs and report back with any successes i may have. ...this army takes over 2 hours to make

Has anyone tried the new jump spell with a dragon horde? Does the magnet effect even work on air troops? The biggest drawback of dragons is that they're big lumbering retards that are happy to be widdled down by air defense as the meander aimlessly around the base. The ability to direct them straight to the ADs would make them much more effective.

Watching the youtube SC put out makes me think that this won't effect air troops because the spell is based around ground troops and walls. Air troops won't change direction because they will already be on the path that takes them directly to their next target since they aren't hindered by walls.

I was an idiot with jump spell placement, but troops did stop what they were doing to use it. Valks I noticed have a problem with their new AI. They make an effort to head between buildings before they begin swinging, but they adjust their targets too often. They would shuffle in between two buildings, and before they started swinging one of the two would be destroyed by other troops. Instead of attacking the second one, they would re-adjust their position again. The net effect of this was that they ran around in circles for more than half the battle trying to get JUST THE PERFECT SPOT while wizards did all the actual work. I do think that they could put in some good work if they were leveled up and had a rage spell, but it's quite a hefty DE investment for a troop that takes loving forever to train.

I've been playing for nearly 5 months and I decided to actually wait until I had everything upgraded to max before upgrading my Town Hall for once It's taking forever, I still have 80% of my walls to upgrade to Lv. 6 and then the Clan Castle. I still haven't spent a dime on this game though, which is fine. I want to support the game, but at the same time, I don't want to buy gems

Freemium games don't need support in this way, they just need to catch a few whales and they're fine. However if you don't have many gems from the means posted above, and a free-boosts special comes around, buy enough to boost through it. It's definitely worth it.
