Name: Tenjiro “Ten” Karasuma Concept: Tengu Powers: Shapeshifting, Magic fan, Martial artist Hey, you wanna hear a riddle? What’s blue in the morning, black in the day and red a thousand years later? Not a riddle person? Tch, fine. I had a pretty good childhood. Flying round the mountains with my brothers, messing with the woodcutters, martial arts training. The usual, you know? The woodcutters were a blast. “Give me back my axe! Hey bring me back my children!”, poo poo like that. I remember this one guy, an awesome dancer. He kept us entertained for hours. We tried to get him to come back by stealing some bits off his face, but the next night his neighbor came to visit instead. Ugh, that guy was such a bad dancer we gave him back the warts to make him go away. Hey, don’t touch that! That’s my fan! See, you wave it, you can create a magic wind. And look, if I wave it like this, I can change the size of your nose! What’s that, you want it back the way it was? You’re no fun, man. The last guy who stole this fan, you know what happened? He made this chick’s nose huge so she would settle for him. There’s negging then there’s this rear end in a top hat taking it to a whole new league. He fixed it after they got married, but man what a jerk. So one summer, he started to fan himself, but it’s so hot he decided to have a nap. By the time he woke up, his nose was through the roof! Nah, why would we fix that? Look, there are two kinds of people in this world. Pigeons and crows. Pigeons are fluffy fat useless things. They sit there gorging themselves on grain, but when something like the Adversary comes along they get all swallowed up in a big gulp of feathers and meat. Not us. Living on a mountain meant we could see that poo poo coming from miles off. War can be good for us, but there’s only so much carrion a bird can eat before there’s nothing left. So we left the mountains and followed the boats as a flock, cramming ourselves along the masts and the rigging. Freaked out the refugees, but it’s not my fault they have some backward beliefs about black birds. We’re not in the mountains anymore, but the big city is great! The locals sure know how to treat a raven. There’s a million people going out to dance every night, an open dumpster on every corner and a ton of shiny things just lying around for an enterprising fellow to pick up. Me, I work for Dr Franken during the day, in some swank rooms on the Upper East Side. He does facelifts and tummy tucks for rich ladies. I’m officially his receptionist, but honestly, I don’t know poo poo about copays and confidentiality and all that. I just help out; Her Majesty the evil For fun, I often swing by the martial arts clubs to kick some human rear end. There’s nothing better than beating the “honor” out of some wannabe samurai. I’m always the best guy there, and from time to time I take the occasional guy under my wing and give him a few tips. Sometimes my brothers and I fly around, like the old days. Playing in the fountain in Central Park, betting on the fights between the racoons and the foxes, drinking with the other Fables. Quoth the raven, “Life is good.” --- Tengu are Japanese mythological raven spirits who can shapeshift, although their shadow always remains the same. They carry magic feather fans which can create winds or change peoples' noses. Other objects associated with them are their magic invisibility cloak, magic shoes and magic staff. They are also known to be skilled martial artists and sword fighters, who often teach worthy warriors. Ravens are also significant in many other cultures.

Who needs a gun when you can throw a punch? Basically the same thing. Okay, when I said I had finished tweaking the sheet before? I may have fibbed. I tweaked it again, mostly just tightening up a couple of skills and descriptors, and cleaning up the formatting a little. I am pretty darn sure that I'm done now, though. So if it looks good then- oh. Oh, oh no! What's this!? It looks like somebody has been digging up Tsarevna's dirty little secrets! And is up to no good with them! Just what kind of trickery is this!?

Hey, mugrim, any tips on what to do with Mac's "Mac Power"? It's more of a narrative thing that I don't intend to use actively much, so I'm not sure where it would fit in, mechanically. Mostly he'd be using his own skill and some of his other powers, like Luck and talking to inanimate things (Which I'm also not sure how to do).

I'm bored and away from home so I wrote a little light "found media" lore myself. Alls I have is Word, tho, so it ain't fancy or nothin I also added a standard nWoD character sheet to my original character post. You can also find it here. I've never applied a template to an nwod character before so you might be a better judge of how to put it together than I would. I was thinking of a few dots in the "Detective / Stalker" calling from here, I don't know if that's something that's kosher. _________ (transcription of writings found on a grape leaf retrieved after a raid on a potion stash house, dated March 1971) quote:---s I was telling lambkin, we need our boys in distro to exercise more caution now that simmons is sniffing around. cross the Ts and dot the Is, understand? thing about simmons you have to recognize is that he’s got you dead to rights if you’re somewhere you ain’t allowed, and that includes technicalities. take strongman, for example. rear end in a top hat didn’t put himself on payroll for the joint he was using as a front, now he’s laid up in some clinic cot on the boss’ dime. that’s all it takes. nixie had to jump from her penthouse when the fucker pulled a fire alarm – a month’s shipment gone right there. at the very least you gotta make sure your muscle is on a piece of paper somewhere as a janitor or something, with hours listed. and for gently caress’s sake, put their backs to the wall when they’re on shift and if the goods are good enough to really protect, get a few of them them properly soused before and during shift. Furth--- (“Invisible ink” letter to unknown recipient, successfully delivered by courier to Hell's Kitchen dead drop, August 1970) quote:“Since she asked, here’s everything I’ve been able to find out – Excerpt from interview with subject "Beauty", recorded for use in Gunnar / Siegfried trial, December 1948. quote:Recorder: Let's start with how you came to be approached. Screw it, I'm getting in on this. Hans seems a bit too flat for my liking anyhow.quote:Fearless Sheriff Brings Down Bogeyman! quote:Well, if we needed more confirmation that Rotgrub is a loving moron, then this is certainly it. We told him a thousand times, but did he listen? Noooo, he's too good for that, spent a good five minutes flailing around trying to find a form that'd scare the bastard, saw it myself. Allow me to go over what does work here. The man has a weakness for the sauce. A serious weakness. I doubt he's fully sober for half the arrests he makes. There's a theory floating around that he's only so immune to fear because he's so drat drunk all the time, but I wouldn't test it. Does this sound decent enough?

Elphaba "Ella" Thropp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTTDOss5jUE They always called me wicked, ever since the old country. I had to be better, smart and work harder to just compete with the rest of them. It was through sheer force of will and determination that I managed to make anything of myself. Along the way at every step, I was fought and pushed back by those prettier and had it easier than me. It didn't matter to me, I still made my way through tyrannical and evil people. Evil is what they want to call me, but cannot, though I might not be good, I am certainly not evil, and thus they settle on the wicked middle ground. When I faked my own death and let another pretty girl usurp me, it wasn't out of some greedy selfishness, but rather I had remembered what had brought me to that point. The struggle with the tyranny and to watch the animals brought even more suffering than they had before. It is better to die a villain then live a monster some might say. I spent years fleeing and travelling to other lands, doing things I never thought possible and try to meed out a brand of justice among some of them that I could find. The prince that I turned into a frog deserved it, though it gets harder to remember his crimes as time goes on. A lot of the old country seems to disappear as time goes on, and I'm not sure why. I think it is better this way, The Adversary was a terrible thing to behold and I couldn't stand against it. I could ferry those that they would have discarded, and so I did. The animals at the very least would be safe, though I was not uncaring to the plight of the people. I helped as many as I could, and that is all I could do against the hordes. Eventually, I came here to New York, to a new world and I thought to myself a new chance. What really happened was that I was stuffed into the 13th floor and set upon giving magic to others to survive. I got to live in The Woodlands, that is true, but it was a gilded cage. Though the bars sparkled with gold and the key bejeweled it was a cage none the less. I would have gone mad, again, if not for meeting someone there. If life were kinder, I could shout names from rooftops, but that has never been my way and it has never been safe for me to do. Amid the spell books and charms, I found love. I should have been happy then, and I was, but I was also disturbed. I saw fable after fable come to me struggling for help, and I had to take all they had so they could live with us. They were precious to me, as were my monkeys back in the old country. I saw them grow and establish themselves forced to don a cloak of magic so that they could live a normal life. I could only do what was right, I had this ability, and this power, I had to help them. So I did, for free. The business office didn't like that at all. Wasting government resources! Like she knows what it takes to do my magic? Like she should prevent me from reaching out to this hurt and suffering animals that can think and feel just like us. The farm is its own gilded cage in of its own. And so, at the business office's behest, I was thrown out of the 13th floor stripped of my wand, and about to be sent to the farm. I had different ideas instead of the farm being useless. I managed to escape into the city. My friends, my true friends helped me, and remembered. My dear was stuck in the 13th floor, only sent messages by me by my animal fables and their sense of loyalty. She was livid at me for endangering myself, and us, but what could I do? Ask her to give up her magic for me? Could I be that selfish? I had no idea. I couldn't force myself too, though I wanted too. Instead, I took to wandering the streets with the little left of my charms to keep my skin... normal and just walked the city. Even outside of fable town, and I know it was dangerous, but I had to get away to think what I was going to do. They had already taken my wand, without that, I didn't have any magic, but just because I didn't doesn't mean I was useless. Unlike others, I had my own set of skills, being a spy under a tyrant was a skill in itself! That is when I heard the most amazing sound, and I could scarcely believe it. It simply wasn't like anything I had ever heard. I found myself outside of a club trying to get in. It was completely unlike myself, but I was memorized by it. It took a while, but I was able to wheel and deal myself into that world. It helped that I seemed to have natural knack for music. I wasn't sure why, but I found myself drifting off into that life style, and with one of those Moog synthesizers provided by a friendly dj, I found a different world that was like magic in many ways. i could create something that caused joy unabated and unfettered by anyone else. It didn't matter who I was, just to be able to be so... free was like a gasp of air. I had been drowning before, maybe drowning all my life, but now I was finally above water. There was a problem though, they were looking for me, and I knew that my stash of charms was going to wear off. I decided to hide in plain sight and start djing myself, without any charm. But how to do it, and then I realized... we were in a disco club and it came to me! If I slept in the back, I could perform during the night and manage to survive just a bit longer. I didn't know if this was a solution, but at the time it felt good and it felt right. And so The W.W.W. went on her club run, clothed in a green light that made every the same. It was glorious and it might have filled some of my heart for a while, but I could only last so long dangling from fringes of Fable town before they caught me. I don't remember who did, only that I awoke to find myself in the basement of The Woodlands look at the Deputy Major and Frau Totenkinder. I had tried to explain what I was doing and that I had just tried to help Fables survive. I tried to say a lot of things, but Frau shook her head. I was quiet while they decided my fate. Scared and angry would be a good description of what was going through my head, but Frau Totenkinder had given me a sign to just be quiet and listen. She had a plan, and I knew it. My amour had a reach I would not have expected, for even Frau Totenkinder was on my side this once. That is how I became a new sheriff, Frau reinstated my magic for it, and allowed me to move back into The Woodlands. It was surprising, but apparently, my dear had more pull than I would figure. Allowed to go out now and explore the world, it didn't so much like a cage... but more like a home. Could it be that I could have both worlds? I hoped I could. My Amour and I had reached at least a compromise for the moment. How hard could it be to protect people am I right? No way I can screw this up. I better not. The witching well was brought up more than once in reference to me. I hope there are some time off enough to do another dj set though. pre:Name Elphaba "Ella" Thropp Sex Female Virtue Charity Vice Pride Concept The Wicked Axe-man fucked around with this message at 08:26 on Aug 21, 2014 |

She is pretty awesomely smart, at learning stuff, and convincing people about her cause. New word she learned how to DJ and how to use a MOOG. So she is pretty hip now in human terms. Thats all i can think of! edit: edited my bio, so it is more clear that Ella doesn't name her partner!
