how strange. people don't seem to trust that weird "banc" incorporated in panama to handle their bitcoin needs. i wonder why

quote:

Hola fellow Bitcoiners! To make this blunt, we've started a site that allows you to buy Bitcoins with Credit Cards, but it's not working. People aren't buying enough to keep this business alive. What do you think we should change? (self.Bitcoin)
submitted 4 hours ago by BancdeBitcoin

We've started testing the site about a month ago after ~6 months of development and negotiations.

it took LOTS of persuading with the credit companies and banks, we've received a lot of no's and had to adjust and change constantly to keep wit various security/regulation requirements. Credit Cards risk departments seems to think Bitcoin is the Ebola-Nazi-Antichrist.

The initial numbers were good, but the sheer amount of fraud/hacking attempts was overwhelming. We were forced to add buy limits and much harsher verification procedure just to make the site less attractive in the eyes of fraudsters.

We were handling the risk quite well, but it took so much time and effort we had to work 16 hours a day, every day, for a week and a half. We didn't have the money to hire more and more risk specialists, so we had to stop and re-create the entire verification process.

Since we're implemented those changes fraud has dropped drastically. Unfortunately, legit transactions dropped as well.

We could theoretically expose the user to the verification requirements only AFTER the purchase, thus keeping their experience intact and not scaring the off, but that felt like a very lovely move and we try to avoid those.

I'm the father of this site (well, one of the fathers), I think it's perfect and I love it because it's my baby. You however DGAF and can tell it like it is.

What I humbly ask is you feedback:
What would have made you buy from us? What would've made you rage quit? What's great? What's annoying and unusable?

I can't give you much in return for your honest opinion but I will spray Gold on this thread like a MF. However, if we're still up and running in January 1st 2015 - I pledge 10 BTC donation to whatever cause r/Bitcoin will up-vote the most.

Answers to unasked questions:
Currently the site is in German (though all Europeans cards can buy there) and we're working on an English version.

We can't work in the US at the moment, the regulation\legal costs are simply too much for us now.

edit: did the background of this pos just change?

the point of the registered mail is so he can't deny receiving it. it's the analog version of a "read receipt". this is important when serving someone a notice their being sued. if you can plausibly deny you got the letter, it makes a lawsuit against you difficult. this is why in movies the lawyers sometimes trick people into meeting them, then say "you've been served" (sometimes even throwing the envelope at the person because physical contact is part of it). and here he is publicly tweeting that he's expecting the letter to boot.

its why you should use recorded mail for sending contracts and things around too

because the onus is on you as the sender to ensure it arrives because you chose the delivery method
