I feel like the game was decided by the number of times Tolly just couldn't get Acquisition Mode to work as intended. Namely, he never tried to guarantee that he'd win priority--dropping it on a priority 2 Sonic Strike when Adroc still had +priority styles in hand.

This is partly a build concern: Despite going for a disruptor build with Acquisition Mode, Tolly mostly chose priority-lowering styles. And Terrifying in particular just did absolutely nothing without Analysis Mode to back it up. If I had to go back and rebuild Guy-Man myself, I'd probably go with Displacement and Levitation over Terrifying and Capturing, with Vent and Slice for bases (removing Shot, since you have two huge-ranged styles and Slice to pursue).

On Androc's side of the table, Unbreakable Slice is just a mean move, especially with Reactor Mode or Balance Mode to keep it consistent.

I'm gonna be honest, a significant portion of my strategy revolved around spamming unbreakable slice once I realized what an utterly filthy move it was. :v:

I was strongly tempted by acquisition mode, its activation effect is very powerful. What it came down to was realizing that, in short, there are a lot of really good energy-using styles and bases. If I took acquisition mode, I'd either have to give up on all of those effects or almost never use the activated ability that I would want acquisition mode for in the first place.
