He's gaining on you.

The latest season was a mess, but before that it was schlocky fun. It felt like Buffy for 2010s.

I feel like the show suffers a fair bit for the rushed production schedule; I think they film the start before the end is even finished being written, so they don't really get to do a full-season script tidyup, which is a bad thing given that it's entirely serialised.

There have been a few British shows like this which I've always found really weird (Little Britain springs to mind), the only time it has ever really worked for me was in The Fast Show where somehow every week they would do exactly the same gags and yet I would just about die laughing.

And even within the Fast Show the best sketch by far was Ted and Ralph, which was one of the few that relied on a situation instead of a repeated catchphrase.

(I never watched the spin-off show but assume it was awful.)

There is no such thing as a consensus opinion for Doctor Who fans, but if there was one, it should be this, because all those who disagree with it are soulless monsters who would kill you and your family in a second if they had the chance.

I started watching Avatar when it aired, ages ago. I was the absolute perfect age for it- feeling like I was too old and being all skeptical of this cartoonish over the top show that could be cool and had some neat aspects but not wanting to like it as well.

Then the first season got a lot better and then I was buying every volume of the show on DVD as it came out from season 2 to 3.

And now I can look back and safely say- it wasn't a bad show. Could have done things better, but it was a fun ride while it lasted.

Shame about what came after!

Season 2 is even worse in a lot of ways!

3 and 4 though are good though, so I don't know man I'm not sure it's worth watching season 2 to get there.

Personally the only bad parts were the ending (like last 10 minutes) of Season 1 and the first half of Season 2. But I won't bog down this thread more than that.

So, now that Occ has seen the ep, do we have the greenlight to discuss it, or do we wait for the review?
