There is a constant trickle of progress being made. Slow and steady, bad when ready. That is the developement motto.

For example, in the span of a month I've made two areas, both fairly well detailed as far as scenery goes, although there is always some work to be done with them. The bigger area is pretty empty for now, but everything that goes in it is well documented and partially made, just not implemented yet since other priorities exist. The other area is a small town that is my own project for the most part that I've somehow managed to convince them to include in the game. It has an overly elaborate questline that consists of one main quest and four sidequests that alter the way it all plays out, if you choose to partake in it. Lot of tough moral choices to be made. This is what I'm working on right now and I'm hoping it'll be done by the weekend.

Other than that just doing some generic poo poo like fixing up DwarfNET bugs, fixing up Character Creation bugs, adjusting horserace mechanics, Baby Huey clothing game, working on stupid experimental poo poo like tower defense, fencing and audiologs that I will eventually remove in silence after realizing what a poo poo idea it was. Although there are some parts in the game that I think we could utilize a tower defense sort of minigame in, so sometimes there is a feasible use for these things. Idk, I kinda wanna see them in there but in the end I don't really make the calls. I just make poo poo and sometimes it gets through the filter.

I really liked that aspect of Barkley 1, there'd be a buildup to some interesting mechanic, it'd get used one time, and then never mentioned again.

It's all a lie the game was actually fully complete months before the kickstarter went live, since the full source code of the game was found inside a bball meteroite and now they're just waiting a believable amount of time before releasing it to justify taking all us backers as huge rubes

With the proper equipment and a working knowledge of bball distilling techniques you can harvest meteorite dust from common basketballs sold at your local sporting goods store

I still stream some Barkley pixel stuff. Took a 2-week-or-so break over the holidays, started again this week. I often forget to link to it here when I start though, I should do that more, or maybe write a kickstarter update about that with some links to older videos or something.

Been mostly drawing NPCs for Brain City lately, and last month I was dealing with a backlog of older, lower priority work tickets. I should stream again tonight around 6:30 EST if anyone's interested, going to finish up this latest batch of Brain city NPCs, drawing and animating dialogue portraits for em now. Yes! I am here, the game is happening, I am very proud of what we have so far. It's a big rear end game and, after working on this big rear end game for a long time, it's clear why more small, largely part-time teams don't work on such big rear end games. But I think it will not disappoint and everyone who has gotten their hands on it so far has been impressed.

We also show it + our one-of-a-kind character creation wizard booth pretty regularly at conventions, most recently at the Tokyo Gameshow.

Gortarius is the loving Tales of Game's wizard you simple minded neopeasant. He could probably donate a billion dollars if he wanted to. It's just money to him, he doesn't care. We don't know how long he will entertain himself with Barkley 2 so just shut up before you piss him off and cause him to focus on something else.

Writing a super long dialog and I'm kinda worried it is so overly long that people will start skipping through it after the halfway point. At the same time though, I can't really make it any shorter or I can't include everything I want in it.

I really like some of the longer dialogs in the first game, like the "Tell me about the lines on a bball Charles" and the whole one billion slamdunks throughout the cosmos one. They are really short in comparison though and I feel they are also a lot better in every single way.

This has some really goofy animations here and there (plus possibly the most iconic animation in the entire game?) during it but it goes on for a long time.

Only time will tell if people love it or hate it.

One billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously through the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the cosmos. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my veins. Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk and free throw. I AM THERE.
