This seems rather ridiculous on the IMSA website. Looking forward to the next 10 hours of darkly silhouetted figures piloting cars with neon lights on their dash, I guess.

I'll take the rooftop cam over the constant onboard I was watching earlier for sure. I guess they were still switching over from the TV broadcast to the stream, so it was pretty dull for a while. I'm surprised they got the 912 repaired as quickly. Impressive stuff.

Somebody's getting fired at Wayne Taylor Racing. Holy poo poo, they blew that. E- Seriously, how do you not keep track of the time? You have a golden opportunity on that final restart gift-wrapped and it's lost because somebody didn't math gud. Manage it better or get a fourth loving driver next year. R.I.P Ballast the Possume, we hardly knew ye. http://imgur.com/uFRWi12 ^ Put Andy Lally et al out of the race. I'm surprised this wasn't posted, I found this before I found out who won. While eating lunch too lol. It's not as bad as when that NASCAR team that was testing hit a coyote, that was nasty.

I thought they had a separate problem that knocked them out of the race. During the race they interviewed him and he said that even though the possum came through and bent the radiator out of place it had still been cooling pretty well.

I decided to find out exactly what kinds of tech transfer benefits car companies like Chevrolet and Dodge get out of going racing: http://arstechnica.com/cars/2015/01/the-golden-age-tech-speeds-from-racetrack-to-road-faster-than-ever/ Turns out there are actual tangible things, as well as more ephemeral stuff like training engineers that when it's go time, it's go time.

It's not just promotional work but putting them in pressure situations. It still amazes me that Toyota are doing the WEC with engineering budget and a much lower investment than Porsche or Audi. The WEC is going to be so good this year.

Hilarious story after the Rolex 24... Drive-Time Violation Moves No. 10 Prototype Team To Last In Class In Rolex 24 quote:DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 30, 2015) – The No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Prototype team and drivers Jordan Taylor, Ricky Taylor and Max Angelelli have been reclassified as finishing last in the Prototype class in the Rolex 24 At Daytona due to a violation of drive-time rules. In the Rolex 24, the maximum drive time was no more than four hours in a six-hour period and no more than 14 hours total.

Thinkin about this, if they knew they were already over the limit when they came in, wouldnt it have made more sense to pull a Scott Goodyear and just keep running? Especially since NASCAR obviously hates vacating wins, theres a possibility they would have let them keep the win and vacate the points or something. It sorta seems like stopping was the worst possible move they coulda made. I also didn't see it posted, but Toyota's new WRC kinda reminds me how boring/ugly most Toyotas are these days: Cygni fucked around with this message at 18:24 on Jan 30, 2015 |

I'd like to see the time breakdowns for each of Ricky, Jordan, and Max Angelelli. I didn't pay attention in the overnight hours and could be wrong, but it seems like they were leaning awfully hard on Jordan and Max the most. Plus, only three drivers reduces the flexibility, though Action Express won with three drivers last year, so . WTR used to go with four drivers for the 24, but has done three for the last few years (Wayne only did one stint last year). Looking back: 2005- Wayne Taylor/Max Angelelli/Emmanuel Collard (Overall Win) 2006- Wayne/Max/Ryan Briscoe/Collard 2007- Wayne/Max/Jeff Gordon/Jan Magnussen 2008- Wayne/Max/Ricky Taylor/Michael Valiante 2009- Wayne/Max/Brian Frisselle/Pedro Lamy 2010- Wayne/Ricky/Max/Lamy 2011- Wayne/Ricky/Max/Briscoe 2012- Ricky/Max/Briscoe 2013- Jordan/Max/Ryan Hunter-Reay 2014- Jordan/Wayne (one stint only)/Ricky/Max 2015- Jordan/Ricky/Max
