Grandmother on my mom's side is still truckin' along just fine, does whatever she wants whenever she wants, and didn't want to make me go out of my way to fix the drive system on her 30 year old snowblower because she could push it around just fine with only one wheel driving properly. I fixed it anyways, she kicks rear end.

Anyone know much about vintage BMX bikes? My neighbor gave me this Vector Victory III made in the mid 80's and from the limited research I did it's apparently pretty rare and worth quite a bit. It rides incredibly well, you can tell immediately that it's a high quality bike. I may just join the forums at BMX Museum to find out more about it, in the meantime I'm going to tune it up and ride it until my son is big enough then it will be his.....But if it's worth it and is rare I may restore it to new condition, I've always wanted a collectible BMX bike

They were a handlebar set that had the stem tube welded on, no adjustability but no gooseneck either = lightweight. They were just welded in place in what the company thought was the ideal position, and if you liked it you were golden. I had a buddy who was notably the best freestyler in town circa 1986 who swore by them. Last time I saw him he sold his bike for weed. drat shame. https://www.google.com/search?q=vec...Bw&ved=0CB0QsAQ I was a vintage 80's bmxer, though I had a Redline and later an SE Quadangle. Sold them both when I stopped riding, I'm a loving idiot. I'd love to have both those bikes today. I'd love more pics of all the details, like the grips, stem, seat, seatpost clamp, markings on rims, etc. Although maybe that's better for the bmx thread, I dunno. Damnit. Left a half empty beer on my desk last night... right next to my keys. The Dude decided to walk across my desk while I was asleep (which he does pretty often). Opened up the keyfob, amazingly it was only damp around the contacts. Wiped them off with a damp towel, let it dry, and it still works. The keyfobs themselves are dirt cheap, but I need access to a Tech2 or a locksmith to program new keyfobs in. Also, my keys smell like beer now... Each one is only rated for 1500 pages (we're up to nearly 1700 on the current one, but it shows 1% remaining - going to pick up a new one when I get paid). They're a little expensive too, since they include the drum. NitroSpazzz posted:Since buying mine the media PC has been powered up twice, one of those was just for router config crap. Really a nice little device and works well. Finally put the app on my phone and that is kind of nice for controlling everything. I'm up to two dedicated media PCs, plus my desktop has a TV hooked up to it as a 3rd monitor (+ Plex Server + Plex Home Theater + Windows Media Center for DVR/TV duty), but they've been used to replace cable boxes. If there was an easy way to get live TV on a standalone device, particularly the subscription channels (HBO), I'd be all over that - but right now Windows Media Center is the easiest way. And surprisingly, most user-friendly. One of the PCs was a barebones garbage find (an old Dell P4 2.8 with no RAM or HDD) - $20 on 2 gigs of RAM, an old WD Raptor 38GB HDD I had sitting around, my old video card (Geforce 210), and my old copy of Win7 later, it works great for watching live TV. There's a 27 inch 720p TV in there, one that powers itself off if it loses the HDMI signal. The other is an off-lease HP 7700 core2duo 1.8 GHz that I picked up for $113 at Micro Center, it's hooked up to a Samsung 32" LCD TV. Video card for the HP finally showed up. Swapped the low profile bracket onto it (which means it now takes up 2 slots - the 2nd for the VGA port), installed the drivers, and dragged it into the master bedroom and plugged it into the TV. Don't have a remote yet, but I just borrowed the remote from the other one (which is in the guest bedroom - I have the same remote ordered for the other PC, should be here Thursday, along with the patch panel). Found out it struggles a little with 1920x1080, but 720p works great (plus it's a 32" TV, it only does 720p and 1080i - video looks like poo poo at 1080i on that TV). It's on wireless for now, with a decent TP-Link external dual antenna adapter - I tried using the powerline ethernet adapter for it, but I get better speeds with the TP-Link. It still pixelates slightly on fast moving stuff, but I plan to have that bedroom wired for ethernet by the weekend (, and every bedroom + den wired up by next weekend. I'll keep the powerline ethernet adapters in case we ever put a PC in the kitchen and/or if we need network access in the garage, I really don't want to deal with trying to get cable to that side of the house. Only thing bugging me is the picture is a bit soft on live TV, and the TV won't let me adjust sharpness when it's running at its native resolution. I'm sure it's something I can tweak with the video card drivers (it's a Geforce 210, just like the one in the other PC, just a fanless version that includes a low profile mounting bracket). Everything else is sharp.

He can ride in my death traps anytime he wants, if they survive me they will survive anyone. Can't drive em though, you have to be one with the MJ to drive it because it requires a sixth sense for deathwobble and the ability to constantly fight it off with minute steering input changes or it instantly wobbles at anything over 40mph, or when not turning right. Since one of the engine mounts is questionable at best, more than a shake or two of death wobble would probably break the bracket off the block (again.) I think I'd hand a 15 year old the keys to a liter bike before I'd let them take the wheel in it. There's a reason that POS is parked. I can keep it under control even while tired but between that and the lack of an inspection sticker it simply does not belong on the road anymore.
