I heard he didn't even rip it off directly from the Dark Knight, but that another wrestler trying to get hired had the gimmick and Sting ripped it off him.

Throwing streamers leads to great moments like Drake Younger being completely covered in yellow streamers before his title match or Kevin Steen making a streamer angel in his final PWG match because there was just so many in the ring so I'm all for that tradition. Dunno how well it would work in NXT though.

Sting is like when a kid sees a movie and then they get this REALLY great idea for a character in [game where you can make your own character] and it's totally different than the movie, you guys.

This is a random dumb question but I couldn't actually remember -- is it true that Sting the singer has to pay Sting the wrestler a small royalty to use the name, or is that just an urban legend?

Aside from Invasion, have there been any WWE PPV shows that were essentially one huge storyline over the course of the whole show? Like, every match contributed to one huge storyarc.

I guess we could count most of the King of the Ring PPVs as well, some of them only have two matches not related to the tournament. Survivor Series 2001 is also pretty much all about the invasion and who will be able to be able to keep their job no matter who wins the Elimination Tag Team match in the main event, because if you have a title you get to keep your job.
