I think I stopped at the point where the Japanese military makes no mistakes, are good guys despite literally land grabbing a fantasy planet, and then lies by saying it invented GPS, Wifi, and the internet. Also no way in gently caress would USA, or hell really ANY OTHER COUNTRY, just let Japan do whatever the hell they want with a gateway into what's literally a planet loving loaded with resources. It sucks too since this could be an amazing story with the hero characters being sucked into this poo poo and just observing it all seeing the positives and negatives of war and military doctrine of a nation with no resources. But then I guess we wouldn't have what's basically a rightwing wank paradise.

I'm not sure which part is hyperbole and which actually happens as I'm trying to avoid spoilers but, a modern military 'not making tactical mistakes' is semi-plausible in the sense that modern military training is meant to avoid the wide gap in leadership quality and training that afflicted militaries in ancient times. I mean sure, the US military made huge strategic mistakes in pretty much all the recent wars they fought, but never lost a battle above the company level.

Is this a dark, violent medieval society where constant warfare destroys the lives of men and women, or is this a fun goofy fantasy story where hot princess knights run around in short skirts and boob window armour?
