WE WELCOME THE OPPRESSORS
Now begins the fun email chains of being on a 'collection of draft skate players' team. We have to figure out player rep, team name, and all that other bullshit.

This should be entertaining.

Weinerschlongal, crest will be a hotdog with a face on it. Jersey should be mustard yellow with red stripes.

I think that covers all the hockey jersey requirements.

One guy I've played with a few times had a team in Germany. Their jersey was the Bavarian flag with lederhosen on it. It was pretty awesome but god awful to look at while he was skating, it gave a weird trippy motion to the blue and white.

My jerseys are about to ship.

Also won my C1 championship last night. Just played a simple D game and ensured I was always passing to the open man or dumping the puck to make the other team chase it down constantly. Thankfully the forecheck showed up that night and put pressure on them. I almost had a seeing eye goal that snuck through everyone, but it was just wide. Also blocked a shot off the arch of my foot, and one off my giant rear end. We don't have a trophy to cart around, but we did have beer. Also diet mountain dew, for some reason. That's me in the dead center first row.

why aren't the nationals letters diagonal like the rangers jerseys?

edit: call the team draft team until you decide you want to keep playing together next season

Because there's only a certain amount of attention to detail I can handle before I say "gently caress it, print it".

Edit: Also the crest I was referencing don't have the stair step diagonal letters.

Rink finally put up league winner pics instead of our blurry-rear end cell phone pics.

Bronze team. I'm lower right. The trophy on top of the league winner trophy here is the beer contest trophy (the team that bought the most pitchers over the season across all leagues) we won last year. They realized it was a terrible loving idea and never did it again. We were the one and only winners and they finally let us take a picture with it. Some idiot promptly dropped it in the cafe area and it broke into like 4 pieces.

Silver team. I'm to the left of our retard goalie.

Our dual parades through town were a stunning success. I can't wait for my day with both trophies.

Was able to make a pick-up roller game at the park this Sunday morning, right at the start of a heatwave too. After exactly 3 hours of skating, my heart rate monitor approximated 1391 calories burned. Not bad for casual pick-up. Took pretty much the rest of the day to properly re-hydrate.

All 3 of the not-in-jersey people were injured. We have a torn bicep, a broken collar bone, and a concussion among our injured. The guy in the suit bought his outfit at the Salvation Army that day and probably creeped all the parents out at the game.

My team spent all of our season this year in last place, ending regular season play at 1-11-3, but since there are only 4 teams in our C9 division, we got into the playoffs. We pulled off a massive upset and just took the championship in a nail biting, brutal, and tense 6-5 win over the team that we have been rivals with over the season. This is awesome.

Looks like I'm signing up as a D League goalie tomorrow when fall league registration gets to open up. Cool thing is that we get to play at the same arena that the Swamp Rabbits (former Greenville Road Warriors) play at due to our ice rink being down for maintenance. Probably going to cost the team some games, but D league is all about learning how to play your position.

Tournament trip report:

Was pretty cool, it was held at the National Ice Centre which is a 10,000 seater arena with all the mod cons. We got the Farm Team's dressing room for the weekend which was awesome, got to have my own stalls for my goalie gear and leave it there over the weekend so felt all pro like.

Overall the hockey was good, 6 team tournament made out up of mostly newbie teams except for the one team that didn't get the memo and was made up of former junior and national league players and promptly destroyed everyone. We made it through to the semis and then came up against them which went about as well as you'd expect, then in the finals they lost 2-1 so haha get hosed sand bagger team.

Tournament hockey is good, my body still hurts.

also if you're on your knees when they score just kind of slouch over and act like you've been shot and don't look up until the puck is dropped again

"There was a distinct kicking motion" is my favorite, even if it was a shot from the point. That usually gets a laugh out of the ref.

No, no, no. You just want to stand up and have a few hits from your water bottle while looking away from everyone in shame as the ref digs the puck out of the net.

The Sharks could be that Champion.
As a defenseman, if I'm on the ice for a goal against, my go to move is to celly hella hard and then do the ejaculatory pantomime into my goalies face while yelling "LOSER!" and then line up for the next faceoff like nothing happened.

Welp spent a full summer doing power skating and adult learn to play continuing for I guess a full year's worth of professional lessons. In addition to a few months of adult's first steps lessons.

Going to play league games with the team I played weekly with on rented ice. Got my own jersey and number on the way and everything. I'm even being put on the line with their top scorer because he likes how I refuse to be moved out of the front of the net during our weekly games, haha.

Nervous but super psyched. Season starts on the 12th.
