La Xampanyeria!

Tiny bar that sells Cava for cents, providing you order food too. Then you can come back during the day and buy it by the bottle and then get pissed in your hotel room.

There's also an expat bar somewhere around there that'll serve you 50/50 vodka-cokes. But hosed if I can remember where it is.

Will edit this tomorrow with more suggestions.

So the pub being closed by a caricature of capitalist scum managed to raise 5 grand in a day for the owner's family so that's something :smith:

He keeps posting about some pub in Norwich that is going to be turned into something that is not a pub. This issue is obviously of considerable importance to him.

Some are dim and dingy and you have to drink hunched over at the bar, making downbeat, rueful conversation with the barman. Others are bright and loud and have strippers and sassy, wisecracking waitresses.

I know this from watching American films.

Hilarious and charming places, filled with regulars all going through their own emotional needs. Also Frasier.

Just like normal pubs but more dull and underwhelming. So basically wetherspoons with more expensive drinks, no food, and less people.

if they actually call themselves pubs they tend to have waitresses. Also they're not proper pubs because everyone there has American accents.

My favourite rail replacement bus services are the ones where the driver gets lost on the way to a station and has to get passengers to give him directions.

Why would it do that!?
I was once retweeted by a Twitter account called something like "scrote catcher" for complaining about high rail fares/terrible service. Some time later the account went inactive with no comment when a Tory minister was caught ducking the first class rail fare and being let off, of course.
