The guy winning their primary is a bundle of what would otherwise gotten run off of the ballot before Iowa 5 years ago but is somehow obliterating all competition by dint of yelling as loud as possible. It's a hell of a thing to watch, because they tied themselves to these railroad tracks and their choices are to either fracture their party by theft at the convention or let themselves be consumed in the fire after losing big in November.

i think the kind of strategic alliance kasich and cruz are/were pretending to sign only works if you coordinate early enough that only one of your names is on each badly. even if you don't literally say 'vote for me in the states i ceded to my ally, i just won't spend any money on outreach' you really are gonna leak a lot to the other guy if his name's still on the ballot and you have to go public to have any chance of getting voters informed about how they should vote strategically bit it won't work part of the pivot mockery is an argument that the degree and substance of his pivoting is insufficient wrt the general electorate. not that they love Syrian refugees but theyre uncomfortable with this degree of honesty i think
