RAGE in BB was a lightgun shooter though, not the same game. In that alternate reality, Osama Bin Laden was also killed a lot sooner.

Actually if you look at the small print they definitely use something because unlike other beer battered items they put a disclaimer that the burger does contain trace amounts of alcohol.

I only watched the first few episodes because it was bad. She wasn't in it but her character (not shown) disappears after a peace conference is bombed, not sure how it worked out. Apparently she died because she was pregnant with a power absorbing baby so he took her healing from the womb. Aphrodite fucked around with this message at 02:54 on Apr 30, 2016 |

John Krasinki is Amazon's Jack Ryan. I'm totally sure this time the new Jack Ryan will totally stick and they'll finally adapt a bunch of other Clancy stuff!

Clear and Present Danger has a really dull action scene involving deleting computer files. I think the ambush scene is pretty awesome but everything else isn't memorable. Even the way Sean Bean dies in Patriot Games feels cheap. Red October is still fantastic. And it has the best Russian-to-English transition scene ever. Every movie should do that. Neither Patriot Games or Clear and Present Danger are great movies, but they're perfect "oh hey this is on TV right now, imma watch" movies. Someone should make a comedy show about Tom Clancy's daily life where he plays tabletop games and tries really hard to make people think he's a veteran and then bangs out angry screens about threats to America based on whatever annoyed him that day.

I still don't get why they bothered remaking that. "A group of people with superpowers" is an extremely generic concept that gets done over and over again. They could've made a new show with no baggage.

Does Parenthood stick the landing? I'm a few episodes into Season 3 and stuff just seems to be getting a little ridiculous in terms of "how much bad poo poo can go down in 42 minutes of television." I mean, at least they toned down the crazy on Monica Potter's character but the writing on most of the other characters seems to be all over the place.

It has a good ending and Ray Romano turns out to be a really good dramatic actor. What was crazy about Kristina Braverman in the first 3 seasons? I don't remember it. They definitely pile on her until the end of the series.

You know, the Rush Hour show isn't half bad. If you're virulently allergic to procedurals because you're too cool for school then avoid it though. It's a budget version of the movies, but it pulls it off and it's fun.

Breaking Bad question, how did they deal with Mike's "gently caress You" note on broadcast? Did they blur it out or what? It was a funny moment on Netflix but it seems like it wouldn't have worked that well on TV.

I was just reminded of that moment because I watched BCS season 1 on Netflix and there's the bit where Jimmy calls Hamlin a "pigfucker" and then I watched season 2 on AMC and when Kim referenced that moment they obviously edited it. It's just noticeable because they very rarely do it.

It's nothing I would ever go out of my way to watch, but considering there's nothing else really on at that time slot on Thursday, it's a pretty enjoyable show, yeah. I wish they got someone who was closer to Jackie Chan in terms of physical acting because the action scenes are pretty dull, but I like that the Chris Tucker replacement is more of a Chris Rock type character. It is getting kind of ridiculous that every adaptation of a show from different media is just "[insert basic premise of original]... and THEY FIGHT CRIME," at least Rush Hour is actually appropriate to fit into that mold. Parenthood doesn't have that much misery. The family are upper middle class living in a mansion in Berkeley. It's no more misery than something like Friday Night Lights.

I actually finished the first two seasons of Turn today. The second is waaay better than the first and is worth watching. The first was a slog. I do love Simcoe and his constant shtick of "I am evil man, watch me do evil things, HA HA HA HA (devilish laughter)".

John Foo is actually a legit martial artist and stunt man which is probably why he was cast, he's no Jackie Chan of course but you're not going to find another Jackie Chan, much less one that wouldn't be completely wasted in a CBS show. I haven't seen the show but if the action scenes aren't good its probably down to the filming and editing rather than Foo's ability. e: I think i'll watch it though, I like a fun action show and if it's even half decent there's a chance i'll enjoy it.
