Trump's SC nominees would invariably be lawyers he's played golf with or gotten drunk with who he thinks are the country's foremost experts on Constitutional law because they got him drunk once

loquacius posted:Honestly I've never really understood why primaries are this long drawn-out process where certain states get to be kingmakers while the GE happens all at once Because it allows candidates who don't have huge organizational backing and a bunch of money to run a small ground campaign in just a couple states to figure out if they are viable and then expand if they are. People bitch about Iowa and New Hampshire picking the winners but that really isn't the case. They seperate out the losers, most candidates drop out either before those states vote or right thereafter. A handful of candidates emerge from the early states and the winner is picked out of that group. That's also why these states aren't always all that great at choosing the eventual victor - voting blocs are more split up when there are 10 people running than when there are just 2 or 3. It also forces them to tailor their message to the whole country instead of just a handful of their most favorable states. Spreading the primaries out is definitely a good thing.

Like, his bluster about "I know some of the greatest experts on <thing> in the world, people that nobody else is even talking about" always really sounds to me like he met someone at a party who was interested in <thing>, knew more about the subject than Trump himself did, and had good taste in liquor e: this post is a second post about who Trump would pick for Supreme Court, I wasn't expecting like five posts to go up between my last post and this one

Guys check it out I'm totally owning this dude who got conscripted into the military before he would even be able to drive a loving car in my country. Gonna wish you were still forced to fight in the army after this because then the medics could probably treat your sick burns.

Thorium joke posts about it but I've been a fan of them Thorium reactors for a while, even before I knew of Bernie Sanders. Nuclear energy is one of those words that have an insane amount of fear associated with them. You know, like communism and socialism. But when you ask people why they're afraid of nuclear energy they give you the stuff they heard from anti-nuclear rhetoric. Unfortunately, what we are using now are inefficient plants using expensive fuel. With GMOs, having them on a label is whatever. But practically everything we digest is a GMO these days. If you like corn then you're eating a man-made vegetable. Natural corn does not look like the stocks we eat. Thank you, Sander-son fortunately, Thorium is no joking matter, goddamnit, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sG9_OplUK8
