Kasen figured out what Mamzo meant with her pranks and responded to her challenge over it. Then attempted to humiliate her, without even trying to tell her she had the wrong idea. It's clear she's up to some shady stuff, though that's really of no surprise considering she punched a hole in the barrier in ULiL. About that whole thing, i'm most interested in Mamizou's machinations for the shrine. Like, she's clearly had big plans in mind for a while but I never got the feeling she needed the shrine for any of them. I thought she just wanted to establish herself as a big power in Gensokyo. And I don't see anything about the shrine that'd help her out with that.

She's not omniscient though, which is sort of what this chapter was establishing. Yukari shows up next chapter, so the contrast is fairly stark. But yes, Mamizou is the new Yukari.

All Mamizou's done so far is figure out that Kasen in an oni, and trick Kosuzu into doing things. Neither are very difficult.

Yukari's plan: Make everyone at a party eat really lovely food as setup to her analogy/veiled threat to one particular person at said party, and also to get people to solve a weed problem for her. There are reasons she's my favorite character, and things like this are one of them. Not quite as good as the time she got people to go to the moon so her friend could steal the moon people's stuff, or when she stole everyone's alcohol, but still good.

I'm glad WaHH is getting a move on bc before this it was like, imagine if it was presented as an actual mystery as to what Mechazawa was in Cromatie High and that's about the level of awareness that Reimu and Marisa seem to operate under chapter to chapter
