I'm seriously in love with this game and thanks to the kick rear end devs for being radical dudes. It was my GOTY and believe me when I say I'm seriously harsh when taking into account my GOTYs. The game reminds me of 90s DOS TECHNOLOGY! gems like Crusader. Seriously a great game and the fact that it runs on toasters is pure sex.

The Kraken or whatever that 30mm lead hose is called is one of the most satisfying guns I've ever used in a video game in a long time. Pure ecstasy to imagine how terrifying it must be for the foot soldiers when headlights appear through the fog, followed by a deafening roar of an array of combustion engines accompanied by the cracking of trees until the 4 story mobile gun tower that is the Treehouse's silhouette looms in the distance, with the ear shattering VRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT and the loyalist armor support is just vapor on the trail of a sheet of depleted uranium.

i didn't see them but i read the premission briefing and was like "hmm, this is incredibly suspicious" and so i proceeded with caution.

the konig is the 30mm assault cannon, and the roar of its engine is amazing

Wait, what? How the gently caress do you move while crouched because when I toggle that on I'm not going anywhere.

Or are you talking how while crouched, dual giant miniguns will slowly scoot you back several grid tiles worth if you unload all the ammo?

(Knife Chase chat. I was paranoid too but apparently I was better at it than I remember? When the gently caress did I beat that mission with the Mongoose? I was convinced my beating it with the Fork was because it had EMP to explain how I killed all the Zeds, but you don't get special weapons for that mission? Why cant I be good at this game when I will remember it?)

The Treehouse is to tall to get full advantage from the Konig though. Put it on a Canmore or something or you can just sweep fire across your enemies.

Disabling the special weapons on that mission was a later change. I did all four of my runs before that change too.

I had not realized that I could have the Maximum Technical Experience until now! Also, the double M2's on the nickel is nicely powerful, efficient, and the Nickel gets absolutely destroyed on the quick once it runs out of shield.

I'm finally getting the hang of small mechs with the dual laser Fork build someone posted earlier. Being able to kill stuff at high difficulties without waking up the whole level is refreshing. So is being able to escape from a melee and pick off stragglers before stealth charging the big mechs and firing salvos into their butts. And best of all, getting a $50 million payday is a lot quicker what with not having to survive ~20 levels.

Dual weapons can also make something you find sorta lackluster into a fun run.

Like dual broilers. Just one Broiler has always felt almost but not quite punchy enough for me, I'm constantly almost but not quite killing or finishing something off, whether they had that much health or their tint model meant one too many beams missed them.

But a pair of them on a Buckler and suddenly I'm double barreled stealth laser shotgun murder machine. Though it can be a bit awkward trying to safely attract attention of only parts of a blob with such a quiet gun that doesn't have full screen range.
