Official lego poo poo is always expensive as all hell. A part of it is the fact that they've never cost-cut on the plastic (a 90's lego block is as solid and durable as a '10s lego block) and the fact that they're hundreds of parts to mold, but a lot of it is just being waay overpriced. 5 tiny baggies of generic bricks should not cost $25

I am sorely tempted by some of the big knockoff Lego sets. Kiddo just recently got into the "big kid" Legos and holy poo poo those are expensive. But it's become one of our main indoor mom-kid activities. But holy poo poo expensive. A big "creative imagination kit" thing is FIFTY DOLLARS. I was expecting $25-$30. I don't want to buy poison blocks that don't fit with the ones he already has, though.
