my favorite heavy agrav is the spacer one who's name escapes me.

I like to load it up with dual banshees and active camo. On maps where the swarms get too much for the banshees to chew up without me sustaining heavy damage, I cloak, flank and hit em with a strafe run from behind which is usually enough to tilt a battle in my favor. :tutbutt:

only downside is it can get kinda difficult to get all the depots and all the orbital guns because of how much ammo you can carry and how much ammo you need and its not like you can hump em to death like substations and comms towers and stuff.

Sounds like you're taking out the canon Vex (i.e. what the AI uses), which sounds pretty fun!

You can at least hump the orbital guns down to low health to save ammo, then finish them off with a few light trigger taps, but yeah Banshees are deceptive with their massive ammo capacity. That poo poo goes from 1800 to zip in seconds. I find myself burning that off nearly as fast as the Pitbull if I panic.

Oh, you wanna try something really hilarious, take out a Dorothy with a Duchess. You can navigate faster in reverse by firing the main cannon than you can by walking. I think the Dorothy is competing with the Lowmill for slowest playable vehicle, which is why I can't bring myself to use it for real. At least the Lowmill can mount dual heavies, so it kinda gets away with the snail's pace!

I think that was actually the first loadout I did with the dorothy lol

these days my favorite loadout is taking the Busker with the archie 40mm, pinch rocket with smoke and play as basically a super LAV-25. It's fun and versatile but kinda weak against spacers (if you don't do stealth so well), so it provides a nice contrast between the "ggeznore" corvid power fantasy levels to the "WHY ARE THERE SO MANY GOSH DANG MINDERS IN THAT ONE SPOT" masochistic spacer ones

Upcoming patch chat. So the main reason I'm not expecting the Belter being turned into a three round burst to have any notable downsides, is because feathering one bullet does gently caress all with the Belter :v:

Like, I can understand the Koing being turned into a burst weapon because feathering with the Koing does what I'd need to lay into the trigger for doing it with lesser machineguns. But I use the Belter a lot for AUX mount because it's the only simple machinegun/workhorse, and as cool as the stutter is the thing has next to no ammo for a 7 round burst gun, and shields just laugh at it.

AUX Wishlisting. Something with a good heft against shields that isn't the worlds most lackluster laser shotgun, Mortar, or Chemical acid. Bonus if it consistently leaves salvage behind.

In terms of satisfying weapons I think the Jericho's become my favorite recently. I love trying to lead those slow rear end shots, and it arcs nicely for shooting over obstacles. I love watching the way shots just invisibly plow through stands of trees and how it annihilates anything unshielded. And the best part is that it torques agravs like a motherfucker, it's absolutely hilarious when you hit one off-center and they go spinning out of control.

Unlike a sea wave, whose motion is only apparent, a moving vortex ring actually carries the spinning fluid along. Just as a rotating wheel lessens friction between a car and the ground, the poloidal flow of the vortex lessens the friction between the core and the surrounding stationary fluid, allowing it to travel a long distance with relatively little loss of mass and kinetic energy, and little change in size or shape. Thus, a vortex ring can carry mass much further and with less dispersion than a jet of fluid.

I do wish the Julius had a 1.1 or 1.2 modifier for payment, though, as it's a slow vehicle that takes time to clear levels with, and after all that time the payment's, ehhh. Makes me feel a little discouraged against driving my favorite mech in the game. :(

I'm also completely redoing vehicle payout multipliers. Partly because not all ultras are actually easy to use, and because both difficulty *and* time should be a factor for payout. The goal is that a sufficiently competent person should be able to make roughly the same amount of money in the same amount of time with a broad range of vehicles, which isn't currently possible because the ultras are so drat slow and much of what they're good at, like murdering everyone and flattening entire districts, isn't properly incentivized. So I'm going to be increasing payout for urban damage, rejiggering the vehicle payout mods across the board, and setting aside of small set of vehicles that include at least one from every archetype as the "easy" vehicles-- new players will begin with these unlocked, and they'll just be explicitly better than everything else, but all have the bare minimum payout mod of 1.0x. That way when we get the influx of new baby players with the relaunch they'll have something to ween themselves on as they fight their way through the game.

The skeleton delivers.

A crippling inferiority complex for me :v:

But yes. For all it's awkwardness in actual steering? I've become incredibly spoiled by A-grav rides that have the ability to aim anywhere but locked directly ahead of their nose (And, you know, don't have a turn speed of near instant). The Huss was my first love of Agrav Overkill, but the Roper has basically replaced it for that reason after one too many times aiming "At" small enemies with a gun would instead send rounds grazing past them.

It's a big part of why I like the Buckler so much too, because that little bit of wiggle room it's mounts have really makes a difference. Joust may have double turrets, but turrets aren't as big as AUX :pseudo:

Patch, buddy. Totally see if in your busy schedule of a million problems, you can highlight those beneficial aiming advantages on the selection screen. As well as highlight the bullshit garbage, like the Sleepwalker :argh: Well at least Turret aim faster-oh wait, it's locked in position on the hull what the gently caress is this.

Really glad to hear that! I can't wait to hear the difference when you fix the audio issues. I mainly put these videos up for entertainment's sake, but if they help promote the game or help you guys find issues, that's excellent. Brigador definitely has been a great quality-of-life boost for me lately. It's also rare to find a game that is both fun as gently caress and made by devs you can actually talk to (let alone goons) who really want to make a solid product above all else, so I'm happy to chip in some where I can. And I'd certainly be down to talk shop later; feel free to PM.

At this point I can't even remember all the changes I made. If you like, I could .zip up the pack file I'm running and you could decompile it, then diff-check it against the current version's stock sources? Not sure how you guys actually do the building behind the scenes, but I recall someone mentioning the .pack file used to be unpackable.

That reminds me... it would be super awesome if said unpackability came back one day so that modders could add new assets to the game. That and it would make gameplay tweaks easier since you could just edit text files and recompile them rather than have to use the console for everything. No worries for now though, you guys got your plate full with more important stuff it sounds like! I'm excited to see what the next patch brings.

Oh, and speaking of bugs: have you guys noticed that EMP'ing an enemy agrav that hasn't taken off yet causes it to float up into the air? Thought that was pretty funny. I guess it just flips a boolean somewhere, and expects bInAir=True or something when it might not be at the start.

Section Z posted:

The skeleton delivers.

A crippling inferiority complex for me :v:

Haha nah, I'm guessing you don't have 306 hours of game time under your belt :v:

I'm in one of those positions in my life where I can sink a ton of time into stuff like this. Last relationship fizzled out a while back, and not dating right now since I'm planning an international move. I work with most of my friends, and we don't go out as much these days since we're all getting older and have less energy at day's end, freeing up more evening down time. So my usual day-to-day is work, dog, food, and obliteration, with some time spent on my main mod project for Unreal Tournament here and there.

I don't tend to play a lot of different games, either -- I just play the hell out of the ones I really like and cycle through old favorites. I'm still way into this Brigador kick, and it's lasted a really long time with no sign of stopping. So yeah, if you played as much as I do, I'm sure you'd be able to tackle Shitstorm Mode just as well!

That and the game is so drat compelling, I can easily lose hours from starting a contract, getting my poo poo ruined within minutes, and then going "OK, that sucked, but this is a good config. Gotta make one more attempt...." I got really lucky so many times in that Roper video, and I think that was like Take 7.

All my victories basically go like this:
