It does lag a bit at that point but you can get through the next bit fairly quickly if you charge ahead. You have to go to a few places on the Citadel in pursuit of information against Saren (there will be minor outbreaks of shooting). You quickly pick up 3 companions along the way. Then you show the Council your evidence and escape from the Citadel becomes possible at last.

How does the strike team reward stuff work with regards to multiple play-throughs? I assume any guns and credits and stuff are save-specific, but do mission points and any additional strike teams you buy carry over to other Ryders?

Because yeah, the meeting was too feelsbadman for me to a point where I had to shut the game down.

Decius posted:Twice now I was unable to get out of combat even minutes after I killed the last guy. Couldn't save, couldn't fast travel, only quit the game or reload an old save. I've come across a lot of these little bugs, some more annoying than others. In the Eos vault, one of the plot doors wouldn't open. Assumed I had to trip a switch somewhere and spent 20 minutes backtracking all over the place. Turns out it was just bugged and opened normally once I loaded an old save. Sometimes got impossibly stuck on the geometry while platforming, had to load an old save. Sometimes the ship doesn't want to land on a planet, have to back out of the scanning interface and reenter, then it lands correctly. Et cetera. Aside from everything else, game could've used another QA pass.

Torrannor posted:Edit: Glad that both the Andromeda haters and Andromeda defenders seem to be asleep or something. I want to read posts from people actually experiencing the game, no matter if they dislike or like the game or parts of it. The constant slapfights are dumb. I've been playing every chance I get since it unlocked, more than I thought I would. A lot of that is in the MP mode, because it is great, but I've also been really drawn into the SP, more than I had expected to be. While janky animations may indeed exist (I haven't seen any on PS4 yet) I'd describe the rest of the game as extremely polished in ways that ME1-3 weren't. So it's gonna be divisive as hell since the actual experience of playing the game is nothing like playing ME2. You don't load your save, pick a cool sounding mission, go do it, say some snappy poo poo, and then you're done and you can do another mission or quit, whatever. ME:A expects you to engage with it the same way the DA games did. It expects you to give a poo poo about a bunch of systems (from the little ones like scanning) to the big ones (like colony building and actually having to explore) that just did not exist in any form in the series before. It expects you to talk to NPCs and get quests and do a lot of things that aren't "shooting and throwing spells at dudes". And that is... different! I like it, even though sometimes I have quit the single player because I was like "ah man I don't feel like turning in a bunch of quests or going shopping or driving around".

Anyone find out who made the Remnant yet? I want to know if they actually included some of the stuff I heard about, or if they wised up. Or if they plan on introducing the stuff I've heard as DLC.

You only explore one cluster in this game. They are not directly comparable. They are entirely different scales. Joker even asks you in ME3 whether you want to call the Council just to hang up on them "you know, for old time's sake". Even if you never hung up on them at all. Although there is a funny moment in ME1 where you can decide to simply not call the Council because you know they'd never believe what you have to tell them.

Turian councilor is a dick throughout 1 and 2, yeah. Which makes 3 hilarious as if he's alive, he's immediately helpful... and completely non-apologetic in the best way. Just "yeah, whatever, we should focus on how to stop the reapers now because I'm helping as much as is physically possible. I don't have time to argue about how I hosed up." Turian councilor is the biggest jackass on the council, which also makes him the best of them.

I really want to like this game but I'm just not feeling it.

It probably wouldn't be so bad if it was just alerts in the corner or something, but they felt the need to make SAM speak every time anything like that comes up. People complained about it during the Peebee loyalty mission preview, and they said "we had to do it because it was introducing gameplay and we had to make sure people knew what to do" but no, that's clearly not the extent of it. Also, lol give your players some kind of credit! If you think that little of them just put up a waypoint; don't coach them through every little moment like some helicopter parent.

All right, seeing as I still had about half an hour of demo time left, I decided to give the custom character designer a whirl. Although I had already read earlier that it's a step down from DA:I's designer, I wasn't really expecting such severe restrictions. Frankly, it compares poorly even to the trilogy's designer - at least there you could mix and match eyebrows, nose, and mouth. Here you just have to put up with whichever combination each of the 9 presets has. Hell, you can't even change a preset's basic skin colour or skin texture. The only more-or-less reasonable justification for this I can think of is that it cuts down on variables and makes it possible to export/import custom faces, but frankly I'd rather have a more versatile designer at the expense of any saving or retrieving functionality.marshmallow creep posted:It probably wouldn't be so bad if it was just alerts in the corner or something, but they felt the need to make SAM speak every time anything like that comes up. I'm still looking forward to getting my copy and carrying on from where I left off in the demo, but good grief BioWare sure outdid themselves in crafting entirely unnecessary sources of frustration.

Apparently there's a bug with the voice chat. It's always on even if it says it's disabled in the settings. I found this out after almost coughing someone's ear off last night. I think setting it to Push-to-Talk fixes it but I didn't have time to check.
