I 100%'d Shovel Knight after Spectre Knight came out so those are the rarest cheevos overall. The one non-SK is the new "floor is lava" type cheevo from Payday 2 where you have to escort a prisoner on a bridge by shouting at him while keeping yourself off the ground by jumping on cars and there's hundreds of cops shooting at you. It was a bitch to get.

Edit: Every Steam sale I look at my owned games (495), then at my game completion % and ask myself do I need more games before buying more games that I'll probably never play.

drat, 55 perfect games! Not too shabby. I'm curious to know what they are, if Steam provides you with a list anywhere.
I've only got two myself, (Worms Reloaded and Gunpoint. Previously Skyrim too, until they released the Dragonborn DLC, which has a few that require grinding that I couldn't be bothered doing) but then again I never really do much achievement hunting.

EDIT: So how does it determine the game completion rate, by the way? You think yours is bad - mine has ALWAYS sat on exactly 30%. :v: Even if I go into my backlog and clear a few games, it always remains the same.

I'm pretty sure it determines the completion rate purely by looking at the average percent of achievements got per game.

That means it's not completely accurate because there are games that have no achievements, so they are excluded and then many games have only a portion of achievements related to game completion and a whole lot of them to loving about.

I guess 3% buy it on impulse, watch some gameplay vids on youtube while it's installing, and get too scared to actually play.

Payday 2 has 63.2% rate on an achievement which is to put on a mask for the first time. It is something you do in every mission, including the tutorial.

There's also quite a few copies that tournament organizers will have that never launch on consoles with internet connections, so that could be part of the number too.

almost every popular game on steam is like this; people just buy them in summer/winter sales and then let them sit in the backlog forever

About 5% of the people who own Sonic Generations on Steam quit after the first stage.

I'm guilty of this, too. I bought Max Payne 3 like, a year or two ago and I still haven't touched it yet. :shobon: I really need to get around to playing it though, as I've heard good things about it.

Max Payne 3 is really good, I was surprised to hear that the general opinion on it had turned. The only bad thing imo is you missed the window for the multiplayer to be active by 6 years lol. It had awesome multiplayer

Yeah I was glad with the way they implemented bullet time in multi. drat I should have played it more while it was active. I joined the goon steam group and played online like twice cuz college internet sucked

Naked specter achievement almost done, surprisingly easier than i expected, even with no curios, but i miss the skate armor. Before starting that today i tried to get shovel knight's no relics+no death. I should be trying to get them separate because i could use that phase locket and flight rod clutches but i want to get two birds with one stone

Yeah to be honest Naked Specter is very easy. Doing it on NG+ on the other hand, not so much. It's really fun though and I got Again! and Checkpointless in my naked NG+ run. I don't think that Specter has a no Curio achievement which is strange.

For the longest time my rarest trophy on Steam was the one for Dishonored for sticking a mine on a living rat. I think my rarest one now is the Randgriz Crest of Honor for Valkyria Chronicles.

I bought Human Revolution for $10 on a sale, bought it again two years later for $5 on a sale because it was cheaper than buying the complete edition upgrade separately, and still haven't played it.

human revolution is pretty good. it obviously doesnt have the same open endedness as DX1 but its alright at making you think it does, and the art direction is really cool. not a big fan of the writing though.

i heard that the recent sequel to HR improved on the gameplay and map design a lot but the writing is outright embarrassing

i wouldnt be able to say since i didnt play it but most of what ive heard is that the writing for the plot is bad, but the writing for all the sidequests and little worldbuilding details was really well done.

as for the writing in DX:HR everyone is kind of one dimensional and straight faced, and the interesting concepts introduced by transhumanism are mostly used as window dressing. Interesting window dressing but not explored in as much depth as they could have. I mean, I guess DX1 wasnt specifically about bioengineering humans and the impact of a single governing authority, but i feel DXHR could have been something way more special.

I didn't really have a problem with the writing in DX:MD, in fact I thought most of the anti-aug stuff was actually really well-done and didn't do the ham-handed race metaphor from the marketing. The issue is just that the story ends at what would have been like the halfway point of any other game.

i got that feeling as well. the writing was serviceable, which tbf is better than 90% of story-heavy games so i still consider HR to be a drat fine game. ill play the directors cut someday

Long time no see, KUK!
What have you been up to, in your mapgaming? A little while ago I somehow got the CK2 'close call' achievement (randomly a little while after I threw someone with symptoms of the plague out of my castle onto the street, interestingly - not right after it happened), although I think it must be bugged, surely, since only 0.08% of players have it.
I haven't really done anything in my Paradox games since then, though.

EDIT: Oh, not really an 'achievement' in a good sense I suppose, but my prison in Prison Architect may be closed down in record time! Since for one reason or another, a couple of my guards ushered some of my new arrivals into a darkened room, where they then stripped the handcuffed prisoners naked, and pushed them against the desk and table, while standing behind them...Somehow I think I've hired people worse than those I'm meant to imprison, as my guards!
