Doesn't help that the few Doc Oetker's pizzas I've had have been disappointing even for frozen pizza.

Totino's really is the best frozen pizza. I can't stand that bland bready taste of most frozen pizzas. Totinos has that flaky crunch. The calorie count isn't as bad as you might think.
