  These are what I found at hand, and last weekend this was up. Given nearly all were pals irl, I guess there was probably some understanding having these tweets floating around was a bad idea for them. (Freedie at some point popped up on the convo and even he deleted his tweets from the discussion as well, but he was still a few days later giving poo poo to whatever person came to argue with him about this). Again, none of these people actually think that, but the hyper focus on class is exactly what we JUST spent the entire primary and poo poo having a fight over and we were kinda just getting to a place where 'ok yea we need to look at class issues better' is mainstream again. Like, literally today Chuck Schumer on ABC said the dems have no one to blame but themselves for the loss and clinton had a poo poo economic message. That's progress that some of us are cringing at the thought of being hampered by yet another round of 'OH SO SAYING WE NEED TO COMBINE IDPOL AND CLASS AWARENESS MEANS YOU WANNA REACH OUT TO THE PEPES???' It's a weird kinda leftist version of just world bullshit. Like, these are smart people who are aware of the issues, but they seem to think that the odds of the guy calling him self Kike Killer Kyle on Twitter sending butchered pig pictures of anyone who said antisemitism is gross in a thread actually just kinda fuckin hates Jews and he's not alone in that stance. They want to believe that mr KKK is an outlier and everyone like him just needs to hear about progressive tax reform to realize 'oh poo poo I'm a leftist'. It's like the people who in the primaries right after Obamacare when dems were being hammered by attack ads thought they could reach out to libertarians for support because hey both of us agree that the base level problem is bad right?

nah this is an issue in the Real Left to deal with. The poo poo Left version is them banking on suburban republicans to be so disgusted by Trump they vote D just to punish him for saying naughty words. It's a different but also stupid plan. Their plan is short term by design because as said over and over you know as soon as Pence came in they'd be lining up to suck him off with "THANK YOU FOR BRINGING DIGNITY TO THE OFFICE AGAIN SIR" as he shoots Pride parades with Tesla cannons . The 'we can reach the pepes by focusing on shared issues' stuff is, at the very least, a genuinely long term plan but it places 'we must convert them' as the goal rather than the (Imo) more reasonable goal of 'if we focus on actual leftists then a socialist economy and society would do work to, say, provide disaffected young men with better economic paths to progress so maybe at the least they'll stop sitting in their basements making podcasts about the Jews needing to be purged from society and maybe they'll come along'. It's honestly a very nebulous discussion with tons of moments of intersection. Like for example workers rights are policies we CAN sell to Jeb The Miner What Who Hates Blacks Even Though He's Never Met One as a winning local level platform but that doesn't really make Jeb our friend because our national scale platform should also include poo poo like 'BLM is right about not wanting to be murdered constantly' which tends to trigger the Jebs. These intersections mean the ACTUAL answer is probably a combo of the two sides, where the local scale races should focus on converting all they can after making a solid base but the national level ones need to work on a macro scale where they're kinda preaching to the choir a lot. Politics be complex, my dude, and honestly what bugs me most about the book is that it boils it down to such a simple 'maybe the pepes can be our friends' issue when it's a much more broad topic that could make a way better book.

The weird part about their criticism of Alamo Drafthouse is that they tried to pin their shtick as this new thing when Drafthouse has been doing all sorts of gimmicks since it began. People don't go there for a regular cinema experience.
