An animal rage took over her. She tore at the bodies reaching for her, took their drat special daggers, drove them into their skulls. The woman calling out to her - calling out to her by name - how dare she? These Moiety swine, no one got to call her by name anymore. But it saved the woman the edge of the dagger. The elbow grounded her and somehow ended the fight. Blood-covered and panting, standing over the body of the woman who'd called to her, she could only take a firmer grip on the daggers she'd stolen. She was surrounded. She wasn't just going to die, not after what they'd done to their own kin right in front of her. Especially when Hellender finally came out of hiding. She was ready to kill Hellender especially. But instead the bitch ordered a retreat. Must not have given much of a poo poo about the woman she'd just knocked out either. How very wrong she was. He was so happy now. He fed her so well - like she was one of his. Wasn't she? He'd called her Catherine. Atrus had called her Catherine. They called her Katran. It had driven her mad for days, but she was coming to terms with it. Fewer terrorist attacks on his installations meant fewer interruptions of her work to stop the earthquakes. Fewer devout 'Black Moiety' making noise about Katran being their savior from Gehn meant more helpful lab assistants. Fewer converts for Hellender. Fewer kills for Brandkamp to brag about. Less hope to cling to. The Rive'ni children smiled at her.
