Birmingham always seems like one of those cities that D-list startup leagues try to put a team in, since they don't have any Big 4 franchises and on paper, it looks like an easy way to "reach the Southern market" without stepping on the toes of Atlanta/New Orleans/Florida. Naturally, it never works.

Is there any chance at all that Gase gets got in the offseason? It would be a dumb move by the Dolphins, especially in light of their injury luck this year, but I would be thrilled to capitalize on that mistake to get a for real offensive coordinator in Baltimore. Gase would be particularly great because if he can't fix the offense he'll abuse and belittle them like they deserve.

I just wonder how many seconds it would take for John Harbaugh to get a new job if Kawalimus got his wish.

I don't think Gase is at the point where the Dolphins will move on from him yet, but there's definitely something going on regarding his relationship with the rest of the team. Tannehill also missed the entire season because of a knee injury, so he has that card to play. He's probably there at least another season unless Miami just completely bottoms out and he loses the locker room McAdoo style, but i'd have to speculate that his seat would be getting warm going into 2018. A lot of it might depend on Tannehill returning to the form he was showing before he got hurt.

Outside of cutting Suh or Landry, he really doesn't have the same ability to make franchise-altering mistakes that McAdoo does, though.

outside of Cam Cameron (lol), Miami tends to stick with coaches about a year past the point where they should have been fired, so Gase has two more years

I mean, it is Washington we're talking about here. Your job is only as safe as whatever mood Dan Snyder is in that day.
|
# ? Dec 1, 2017 08:50 |

Also I think he's gone if he loses to RWBS in week 9 and is 4-8 because Snyder just seems like that kind of guy, injuries or no. But I think injuries really keep his job safe.

As the two teams I follow, I'm on board with jettisoning both Caldwell and Joseph at this point. Caldwell just isn't working out and constantly having to dig out of a first quarter hole isn't a fun quirk anymore, the Lions have too much talent even without a running game on that side of the ball. And Vance....man, I really wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but this is past a talent standpoint, the coaching staff is terrible. Frankly I'd like a new FO for the Broncos too but no way Elway gets ousted so...

I think we should just go by name quality. In that case, Jack Del Rio clearly wins (for having a name that sounds like a latin porn star) and, obviously, Ben McAdoo loses for sounding like a mcdonalds sandwich made from poo poo. Bill Belichik gets a particpation trophy for alliterism
