Though it could conceivably be announced on Dec. 15 or 16th considering there's supposed to be a Bandai Namco stream on the 15th announcing a bunch of unannounced Switch games (though the only link I find on this is some dude's twitter), and there absolutely is going to be a Tales stream on the 16th.

Maybe the babies are an extra lives mechanic? In the first trailer, Naked Reedus didn't have a navel, so he might be in an artificially-aged vat-grown body. Like maybe when you die, you go to "purgatory" and when you escape you inhabit a vat baby body that grows up real quick or something? We did see rapid aging in the Game Awards trailer. The robot arm thing definitely seems like a sensor mechanic, especially if the monsters are invisible.
