I get weird racism vibes from the Nopon. They share the money-grubbing stereotype of a certain real-life group of people but then a majority of them including the high-ranking influential ones basically have the intellectual capacity of children

This is actually not true. If you don't care about sidequest spoilers, read on. Back in the day, Nopon used to speak normally like everyone else. Then they realized that the non-Nopons underestimate them and completely fail their economics skill checks if they adopted a manner of speech that emphasized their cuteness. And thus, modern Nopon vernacular was born, and the Nopon went on to basically control the world economy. In other words, it's all one big act that hides how intelligent the Nopon actually are.

I like it... as an idea. There were a lot of decent story ideas in the series, and from reading the design materials you can see that a lot of thought went into the series. The problem is that the execution was completely abysmal. Also MOMO's design was absurdly creepy

I'm sure it has it's fans, but I don't think it's ever been that popular. From what I remember it was overly ambitious (in terms of story) with more cut-scene than game, and felt a bit like the work of a "visionary" (who had worked on some of the most beloved JRPGs of all time) with no one telling them to reign it in, which again tends to be something that can attract hardcore fans. The Xenoblade games are a massive improvement. But... I didn't play them all that much and it was along time ago, so may be misremembering what they were like.

I just wanna say Kassandra is one of my favorite rare blade designs. I think it's really nice and fits in pretty well

Edit: Only thing I remember is getting a Saga game for a friend, watching him run off a waterfall into a trench. "Why did you do that." *in the most monotone voice ever* "I'm looking for treasure..............."

I wanna know about KOS-MOS as a character as I know she's a flagship character for that series but her rare blade quest makes me think she's the most boring character on planet earth.

A lot of people have asked why Pyra doesn't get to keep that cloak. You'd think dolly dressup would be something that'd fit REALLY well into Xenoblade too.

Perun was the first blade I unlocked and I couldn't get her to level 2 until I'd unlocked Indol and also got Argentum to Dev Level 3 as well as doing a merc mission to upgrade the board game shop. That's a loving long time without level 2 unlocks. And it's not like she's extremely strong or anything. She's just...normal.
Meanwhile I unlocked Herald last night and have her at 3 already because it just requires doing some specials. And the lady with the insane legs that you buy for 500k just needs you to drop off some money at her warehouse.
I knew you had to get to Indol, but I thought that was for level 3 affinity not 2, wow that's especially bad.

CharlestheHammer posted:

Yeah and for most rare blades 9800 trust is just way to much.

Yeah, to finish Newt's sidequest that you can start relatively early you need to be at affinity tier 5 to unlock level 3 of her special skill - Titan Weapon Knowledge. So I started this quest on chapter 5 with a character I got on chapter 5, but I either have to eat a million pouch items or wait forever to finish it, which is also frustrating. Especially since I think I'm just going to bench her due to not being able to unequip Brighid even though I like Newt better.
