That one is in good condition, I just don't like the canvas top. haha I suppose it is a lot to ask for a 70s era off road vehicle to be in great condition after all these years.

Oh my god bid on that thing and see what happens. When I lived in Japan a buddy of mine had an old Isuzu Gemini ZZ/R and that thing was loving amazing. It had a giant 1.8 DOHC in it that must have been built or something because it was crazy fast for a N/A four banger. They are pretty rare and expensive now, I don't think they ever sold outside of Japan, maybe Australia.

A couple of cars I was watching just to see what the prices would be. EDIT I've watched this Land Cruiser be sold, bought, re-sold, bought and now being re-sold yet again at auction for the last month. Looks super good but no A/C means I'm way less interested in it. Those graphics are fly as all hell though. KakerMix fucked around with this message at 02:33 on Jan 24, 2018 |

~Double Post~ I'll be getting the Lite Ace van I posted earlier and this Prado at the same time, tried to get the other Cruiser on the boat but didn't get the paperwork in time. Still, two at once saves a lot on port-to-my-house costs. Maybe I'll just go pick up the other Cruiser with my father in law since he's pretty excited about that one and might want to keep it for himself.

Also you could get the same seat in an evo4 but with an odd red and black pattern, I had one ages ago think it's still sitting around in a friends shop haha. track day bro! fucked around with this message at 10:03 on Jan 24, 2018 |

Auction for a Isuzu Piazza coming up in a few hours. Phone posting so I can’t post pics (maybe someone else can). https://auc.japancardirect.com/aj-99XehzUlAB6QGD1.htm I never even knew this car existed and I don’t know anything about it other than it was designed by Guigiaro and is pretty. Doesn’t seem like they’re that common.

There is/was a nice light purple metallic Izuzu Impulse at a shop in Tampa recently. You see them every once and a while. I don't think we got anything quite as swanky from Izuzu here though, that interior is blinding. With the Gran Turismo tax, it might be cheaper to import a neat one than find a base model here!

They are unremarkable tho in terms of driving, slow as balls unless you have the turbo version. A fellow airman of mine had one and we called it the pizza cutter or something like that because of the stupid name. Styling is pretty polarizing too, I never liked them personally.

That generation of Piazza shares nothing with the Geo Storm. I have an 89 Impulse Turbo with the Handling by Lotus package. It's a project I'm not sure I'll ever finish because my race car keeps pushing it back on the to do list. Edit: This was it when I got it in 2011. It still needs an engine. like the Prado, will look nice after a good bath. the 2LT engines really aren't that bad, they're just very unforgiving to lackluster maintenance or turbo abuse... iirc the factory wastegate is only about 7 or 8 psi, a CT20 is sort of lackluster but they still pull harder than an NA 3L, and everything is dirt cheap for them as they made millions of them. in South Africa I sometimes see CT20 setups on 2.8 3L blocks (the non-E blocks are drilled for either exhaust manifold, you just flip studs) and as long as you watch EGTs and don't let the oil turn to sludge, they last, and go quite hard. certainly not KZ numbers but cheap cheap.

This is what it seemed like, unforgiving on maintenance. I like to think I take real drat good care of my vehicles but I suppose everyone says that. I'll get it prepped and ready for the next owner, I don't plan on keeping it. Especially since if I was going to keep it I'd be hard-pressed to pick the Prado over this one: This one is a lot better looking imho, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this. There is a real chance that my father in law is going to want to keep this one, hoping that when we do get it I don't also want to keep it, looks hella cool. Something to be said for having a 'Land Cruiser' too. Either way I've got so much to learn about dual-batteries and front diff locks. And how to remove that hideous stereo oh my loving god. Also I won't be getting the Lite Ace and the Prado at the same time, will be getting both Cruisers at the same time like I originally thought. Curious but wouldn't actually matter for a long time (if ever). How hard is it to get body parts from Japanese cars here? I know there's all sorts of people with JDM whatever on their car, but it's usually small stuff like grilles or badges, and usually on really popular models that probably get imported in bulk. Second, and I'm sure this has been covered before, how terrifying is driving an RHD car on streets designed for LHD?

The body panels I was thinking of were the Gravel Express body panels, which if I eventually went completely crazy I believe would fit on my USDM Outback Sport. I was also thinking that if I went even more crazy down the line when making more money I could import one of the special edition Subaru Alcyone SVXes that Japan had. The Japanese ones had more luxury features, like seat warmers and all wheel steering and automatic lights, along with weird poo poo like all wheel steering, and better brakes as well. The special editions had even more stuff that I've forgotten. If I was really attentive I might even be able to get the most sought-after SVX feature of all: an intact windshield.

Give it long enough and you'll wind that 1PZ out to around 150-160kph eventually... It will take a long time, and you'll feel like your going to die at about 140kph onwards. As for body panels- Those 70's are built from real steel, so short of rust most things that hit em will come off worse.

Toyota LiteAce, TownAce and MasterAce Surf vans for the smaller sizes with 4x4 capability, and the Toyota HiAces for the larger vans with 4x4. You can get the LiteAce trucks with campers stuck on the back too, not exactly a van but very much a 4x4 adventure-mobile. Nissan has Vanette for smaller and the Homy/Caravan for the larger. Vanettes come up very rarely from what I've seen so getting a 4x4 version of one of those would be tough, the Homy ones are common enough. Sometimes I've seen Mazda Bongo/Brawnys come up, don't know if they were ever available with 4x4 though.

The SVX was the jet fighter with the window-in-window design that needed a transmission cooler and semi-frequently gets a manual swap because it’s so much more fun than the 4-speed auto.
