I was gonna say, I still like a bunch of Less than Jake's stuff. I think that's fine as long as you're not all "They're still putting out their best material on every album!"

I have no problem with ska, though I don't listen to much of it any more. Still have the Rudiments on rotation.

Pennywise and Less than Jake's leads sound mushy-mouthed as hell all the drat time, which is tiresome

When I first seriously started getting into punk at around age 14 (I was born in 1990), it was all about bands like NoFX, Bad Religion, and AFI. While I don't really listen to them anymore, I still think they're good and I'm not embarrassed by them (possible exception made for AFI's goth period). In fact, I recently went back to AFI to properly check out their nineties albums, and they were a really good band.

I'm more embarrassed at my immediately preceding nu metal period. Even in a purely musical sense, it all sounds so boring and drudging to me now. That said, there are some songs where even today I can still see why I liked them. When Chester Bennington died, I relistened to Linkin's Park's first album, and it's not that bad when you get over how early 2000's it sounds. Papercut is a good song, that chorus gets into your head.

I only got one for the first WATT, the Full Collapse ones sold out like, instantly. I will probably end up spending way too much money on a second-hand one for Full Collapse.

Trying to buy Thursday tix within 100 miles of New Jersey is a laughable farce unless you are on a fan-friendly pre-sale...

But I’d pay $80 to watch them play Full Collapse, and I’ve seen them play it through like 6-7 times. It’s a very good record and they have mastered playing it

Yeah, I'd feel bad buying that ticket because gently caress the people who buy stuff just for resale, but I won't feel bad for paying that much to actually see the show.

EDIT: At the same time I did see then play three times last year, and they played Cross Out The Eyes all three times, so I guess it's not really mandatory for me anymore.

There are zero tickets to the Chicago shows on stubhub because all tickets are will call. I'm surprised they didn't do something similar in NY.

I've seen them three times in the last year or so as well, but they never played Paris in Flames so I can't wait for that.

It is $23 though.

edit: I get that people have to eat, and I want artists to make money so they continue to make music, but $23 seems a little steep. I was going to buy it today but bought some other stuff instead. I'll grab it if/when they come through town.

I mean, I'm not too surprised that they do, I never got any negative vibes from their hiatus. It was just people moving in different directions, from the sound of it they still enjoy being around one another. But Pitchfork kinda makes it sound like they owe us something when they the headline says "Well, don't expect a reunion or anything", and all I could think was that I wasn't in the first place, YOU put that idea out there and nobody else. I mean they asked Joe, and he answered because he's not an rear end in a top hat, but I doubt he broached the subject.

Fugazi owes us nothing. And Pitchfork would do well to remember that.

Pitchfork also ran something a while back about this experimental theater production where the dialogue is composed of stage banter and crowd noise from Fugazi shows.
