I have three regrets
The first is to be born in Joseon.
That looks really good, and I like the UI for it a lot too.

If EU4 is anything to go by, I think the bonuses sound pretty significant.

Yes, it's too much to expect the game "Imperator: Rome" to attempt to simulate the politics of tiny, obscure nations like Rome. Can't wait to buy the Rome-themed expansion pack to my Rome-themed grand strategy game.

New Dev Diary for Imperator looking at military traditions. Each culture gets three trees of bonuses to fill out that are all focused on buffing different unit types/military tactics. Seeing the numbers in a vacuum obviously makes it hard to understand how much of a difference it will actually make between nations, but I guess ideally the difference will be noticable. The UI also reminds me of the watercolour history illustrations I would always see in the history books I read as a kid.

Looks pretty interesting actually, kind of a mix between EU4's national ideas and doctrines of the HoI games. I'm kind of puzzled why the Gauls and Germans should get access to chariots (and bonuses to them) though. I'm not sure about 400 BC but I'm fairly certain that by 150-100 BC none of the Gauls or Germans were using chariots, while the Britons still were. Gauls were kind of renowned for their horsemanship and their plentiful cavalry, and many German tribes were also known as skilled horsemen, but they weren't using chariots, that sounds like it should be a thing (out of the countries with access to the Barbarian traditions) that's only unlocked and boosted for the Britons.

My guess is it was a gameplay concern, since it's a whole different unit type, they didn't want it to be relegated to just a couple of corners of the world. I kinda agree with you that it seems odd though.

I guess, but you could still unlock chariots for the Successors (or at least whatever military tradition the Seleucids will lbe using, they used large scythed chariots on occasion, though not very successfully IIRC) and probably the Indians. Chariots shouldn't be widespread.
