lmao I finally got desperate enough to enroll in VA healthcare the other day and they told me it'll be two months out for a 15 minute check up appointment. Then they had some kind of computer problem and couldn't make the appointment so I need to call them back again tomorrow. 10/10 Very authentic VA experience

It'll take about thirty days to set you up with a primary care manager, your claims won't be paid and will be sent to debt collection by your providers, and half the people you talk with will have zero idea what they're talking about and will resort to reading you passages from the website And you'll be transferred, at minimum, five times.

Some goon who worked for VA explained that the way Republicans manage VA is to keep it understaffed. So while VA has money the staff aren't enough to tackle the sheer levels of bureaucracy required to get the money to the people who need it.

It’s more that you don’t even get told where to start, like what form to file. It’s generally expected that such classes are unnecessary because parents should teach it, which leaves kids stranded when their parents inevitably don’t. Same with stuff like “How mortgages work” and “What’s a home equity loan?” and “What the hell is equity?” The spread of the Internet is probably the only reason poo poo’s not worse.
