It really does feel that the stat stick change is only loving over melee and not casters since spells don't give a poo poo what you have equipped. What an odd decision.

Edit: I really hope this rarity change makes golem jewels less loving retarded to find. Basically locking you out of high level golem builds till you have 100 chaos is bad and dumb.

Shield is probably strongest now. 2 handed slayer with Cyclone or Lacerate doesn't seem bad either, especially if you're talking about a league starter and especially if you can run lab.

Blade Vortex might need to use dual daggers just for whirling blades, you can stick (heh) with Flame Dash if you want to use sceptres I guess.

why does everyone assume they forgot GC and BV? It's WAY easier to balance those spells than try to rework stat sticks another way.

I could see something like 2x single affix "gain" weapons with the appropriate basetype and high pdps being the new norm for high level play, depending on how the formerly mainhand skills are getting implemented now (hopefully something like dualstrike instead of alternating).

Gonna be sad for no leap slam for my clawboys going forward, though.

As long as there are regular dual wield, 2-hand, and maybe shield boosts for melee this will be okay. If stat sticks eat poo poo while all the rest of the melee gear options remain unchanged, well :lol:

I'm glad I bit the bullet and did the arc hiero thing in Delve. Depending on what other melee changes are coming I might be leaning more towards starting with a Toxic Rain / Herald of Agony pathfinder instead of Ngamahu Cyclone.

I've been toying with a reverse knockback shockwave totem for a while in PoB for a while but I've never got the numbers high enough. Maybe it'll work with the new multiple totems support as a chieftain.

The stat stick thing feels very much like a situation where they hit the lowest hanging fruit because a more dramatic Nerf would have had ripple effects on more builds than they could possibly handle in one patch. I would expect incremental steps to buff melee in general or shields/2 handers to make things more competitive over time.

They're making weapon crafting easier. It's way too early to say they're nerfing melee in general just because they removed a degenerate playstyle.
