https://store.steampowered.com/app/469820/Genital_Jousting/ Genital Jousting tells the story of "John", a penis who needs to find a date for his high school reunion. Genital Jousting is also an online and local multiplayer party game about flaccid penises and wiggly anuses for up to eight players at once.

Girls invite you to their world, test your speed and earn points by pressing the keys at the right moment. Unlock new stages by scoring certain amounts of points. If you just want to watch beautiful girls enter the free hands mode and relax.

Good game for the GOTY, but the wrong edition: https://store.steampowered.com/app/934990/Cute_Girls_VR/ Clearly you need the VR to trully immerse yourself.

The developer/publisher situation is interesting. They're clearly by the same Chinese joint, but one has "Dance studio mix", one has "Tomimar" and in addition to those two there's "tomimar" without the capital T, the makers of DREAM GIRLS VR, HOT GIRLS VR and SEXY GIRLS.

I'd suspect its the same strat as Chinese spam games on the app store, you make lots of "companies" that are really just all the same one so any damage that one suffers for making trash/breaking the rules is compartmentalized.

Going through this thread on a whim. I feel the need to wash my eyes out. Given what's allowed on Steam...what gets some games banned? It seems like a very thin line.

Yeah Hatred was removed from the store even though there was nothing legally questionable about it, because a game about playing a mass shooter isn’t exactly good PR in the current political climate. Basically it all boils down to whether enough people make noise about something. Valve’s default position seems to be “we don’t care what’s on Steam”.

Don't forget Hated was removed and Gabe himself stepped in to say they went too far and reinstated it to the store. It's wise PR for then to remove a game than to have questionable content.

Ever since HL2, Valve had some hippy-dippy "everyone is their own boss" type of management structure. Mucking through the 872 billion horrible games on Steam is something no one wants to do, so no one does. A game that draws a lot of complaints will get pulled, but tiny obscure 'games' that fly under the radar can be as horrible as you can imagine.

Well the flat corporate structure is more why they've barely released any games in the last decade despite having essentially unlimited money. Steam being terrible is more because despite having been on top for so long, they never set themselves up to manage it properly. They should have split Steam off into its own separate division of the company and then allowed it to grow as needed to handle its popularity, but instead all they've got is essentially the same tiny community team they had back when Steam only hosted Valve's own games.

But surely that's just for the actual developers and artists, right? They've gotta have other staff too for poo poo like maintaining the servers, janitoring the floors, handling customer service (okay maybe not that one). e: ^^^^ AFAIK Artifact wasn't a failure because of poor development effort or bad gameplay or anything. They just had some crazy monetization scheme where you have to buy the game just to get in the door and get a basic starter deck and then pay even more real money to get any card packs. At launch there was literally no way to get any new cards to play with without microtransactions, and the ranked/competitive online mode cost money to play too (because it gave out card packs when you won). Probably Gabe's dumb idea. He was really into the Skyrim paid mods thing too. RPATDO_LAMD fucked around with this message at 11:00 on Jan 9, 2019 |

IIRC they were getting rid of a bunch of waifu games on the recommendation of Morality in Media, who then started saying games with LBGT themes were being objectifying and misogynistic and everyone suddenly realised they were literally a right wing Christian group using woke liberal language, so they basically said gently caress it, reversed course and opened the jizzgates.
