I think both are awful but finance people will fully admit they’re doing it for the money and don’t care. at least they’re honest. tech people actually think they are making the world better while they destroy it. maybe I should change it to “start up tech” I doubt random guys at MSFT are under the impression they’re improving the world, but hell maybe

infernal machines posted:We put seats in the trunk, a concept that has surely never been seen before They should have just put them facing backwards On the topic of CS education, the college I went to always got dinged in the national rankings for not spending enough time on the theoretical concepts and doing too many group projects. But gently caress, group projects are the closest thing to the real world. Dividing up work, making sure people are getting their stuff done, dealing with conflict, learning how to use version control. We even had 2 separate classes , 200 and 201, both of which were mandatory where you had to work with groups from the other class on a project. One class did the front end UI, and the other class did the multi-threaded back end. Teams had to figure out how to agree on APIs, control their own SVN depots, figure out how to debug issues that are gonna likely be in other peoples code. And then those groups were managed by students in a third class that was about learning how to be a manager. What I learned in those 3 classes was infinitely more applicable to my day to day work than any amount of run time O(N) calculations or how the hell you work a Turing Machine. Imagine when Tesla goes bankrupt and no one is around to sue for all those NDAs of all the techs and engineers who had to build all this prop crap for Musk at a moments notice. Like the pod truck, Y-model and the submarine. "A guy came into the workshop and said fit two extra seats in an existing 3 model and do it in 3 days or you're all fired" "He wanted us to build a submarine and have it ready for pictures in 12 hours. It didn't have to be showed working in water or with a person inside so it didn't have to be water tight, Just a tube really"

it's a cellphone pic so it's wide angle i.e. things closer to the camera are larger than they appear in reality, and things further away from the camera look smaller in comparison. while obviously small might just be the bare minimum of 'acceptable', like a corolla with with the front seats pushed all the way. what we really need is like a 5'10" test dummy in there so we can see just how sardiney it actually is. i doubt we will ever see any marketing materials with that though because it's obviously child seating.
