I just want to point out that most of season 5 was shield, in an unknown environment, basically screwing up over and over because they failed to adapt. Deke is a tech mogul now. Dude is smart, savvy if not strictly intelligent.

Disney does not own ROM. Hasbro has had a ROM script kicking around for a few years now, was allegedly planned to spin out of the TF franchise.

Fun fact -- all they don't own is the name "ROM" and the appearance of ROM himself in armor. Hasbro made the then-common and now-rare error of not including an assignment of all derivative work in the original license (now long-expired). This is why the Dire Wraiths have shown up on-and-off since, and why Marvel was able to have various Spaceknights appear (including the "Greatest Spaceknight", out of armor).

Same thing with the Micronauts.

Wow, May went all in on that fight with Sarge didn't she! I was clapping and cheering at that point. Good idea to stage it in close quarters after her completely loving up the Shrike guy, though I think she could have at least taken an eye out to really sell it.

Kind of wonder if they were supposed to look like birds and the effects team either couldn't do it or got a different memo.

Personally I'd rather have the older guy casually talk about his very human relationship with his husband whom he clearly loved deeply. That seems like much better representation than comedy relief robots talking about accessing their data ports, but I guess when you've got an outrage quota and it's a slow week you gotta get mad about something.

Agreed. It's a human touch to the show that doesn't feel at all like what it very obviously was meant to be (representation of a minority group). It's one of the really good things this show does right is overcome any initial silliness inherent in a trope or plot element that's been overdone.

Also, we've only seen like 4 Chronicoms so far on the show, between Enoch, Noah from the Lighthouse who threw himself on the Hale bomb that popped the monoliths, this woman one, and the Hunter who captured Fitz. Maybe two or three more if you count the guards that had no lines or anything. I'm sure there's plenty of female-presenting Chronicoms waiting just off-screen to make it not seem like they HAD to make the only female one a suggested non-sexual/sexual interfacing partner of Enoch's past.

Welcome back to the Liturgigoon thread, friend.
I don't really see what the value of making that character "genderless" is given that the character is obviously presenting as a gender. It just feels... tacked on.

They're robots. They do not have genders. They are automata. She presents as a she because they're emulating humans and other races they're trying to interact with. The Chronicoms are clearly basing their BASE appearance off of humans because there's so many in the galaxy (see: GotG)
