sucks to be right

I love that the WWDitS productions seem to have a history of people just falling into roles they hadn't even considered because someone who knows someone on the production recommends them and then they go "Hey I'm gay and I'm going to play the character as gay even though that never comes up in discussion" and everyone else goes "Yeah makes total sense." The same thing happend with O'Leary the cop in the movie and the spinoff TV series.

Also the character name Guillermo is rather similar to his actual name Guillen, I wonder if that was a coincidence or whether they changed the character around to be more like him (similar to how they used O'Leary's actual surname for her character).

One thing I love is how nuts the production designers went with the details of their house--the pictures covering almost every bit of wall, the cluttered furniture, books, etc. Like you think of how much bric a brac the average person accumulates in 50 years...now imagine 4 people living in a house for 200 years.

I'd love to see a behind the scenes feature about the set decor.

Apparently they read our thread:

That should be the thread title. I've talked to quite a few people about the show and almost always there is skepticism that a US series could catch the magic of the NZ film.

It helps that the creators are very much a part of this show.

I'm just waiting for one of the housemates to say "We're making a documentary", and for someone to reply, "Oh, like that one about the New Zealand vampires?"

Just for the reaction.

Taika is so precious and adorable but please lose the mustache you look way too much like my dad with it.

I’m glad Harvey identified that Guillermo and Nandor have homoerotic moments together because I swear there have been so many times I really, truly expected them to kiss.

But they didn’t because Nandor is a stupid abusive jerk like all vampires.

I was skeptical at first but then I watched it and yeah, SO GOOD.

What is going wrong with that one (face is longer than it should be)
If anyone wants more Tash she did a few episodes of the Adam Buxton Podcast awhile back - WWDITS comes up a bit in the second one. Actually come to think of it there's a Matt Berry one too.

It tickles me that she's made so much professional hay out of basically doing an impression of her Dad. A lot like Matt Berry and his 'silly voice he used to do to amuse his friends in secondary school'

Should have gotten one for writing or any one of the leads, but you know, typical prejudice against vampires.

I can't recommend "Year of the Rabbit" enough as a great WWDITS follow up.

It's got plenty of Matt Berry-isms ("The taaaaaste"). It's dumb fun, with decent enough production values, tons of sarcastic dialogue, and just enough quirks to elevate it.

Yeah, that is a super neat and non-boring power and thus one that is worthless to him. If he ran around turning into a gecko all the time he would starve to death. No one would ever be bored or irritated when he was around they would just be like "Oh awesome a Gecko!"
