I saw some geese on the median today and pulled over, parked on a side street, and skipped the median entirely because there was a park... ... with babies!

Something about munchkin breeding just doesn't sit well with me. I don't know if that's a legit feeling or not. Are they as healthy as any other cat of their breed?

my cat is norris posted:Something about munchkin breeding just doesn't sit well with me. I don't know if that's a legit feeling or not. Are they as healthy as any other cat of their breed? They have a pretty normal life expectancy, and (since cats are obviously liquid) don't seem prone to the kind of long term spine problems that dog breeds like dachshunds do. You are breeding for a genetic abnormality, so it's still controversial, but it seems like munchkins get on pretty well compared to, say, brachycephalic breeds. Now, me and Zoey here would still recommend going for that mutt down at the shelter, but we're biased.

Yeah, what I've heard about munchkins is that they're generally quite healthy and have better mobility than you'd think; I'm also in the "would rather adopt from a shelter" category, but munchkins seem like a good option if you want a fancy cat.
