Just keep watching. This has more twists and turns than you can imagine. https://twitter.com/_kurlykay/status/1164701297330872320 I have no real way to describe what this is other than "America". The first sign we were in trouble was the BBQ sauce. Why even season it beforehand if you're gonna do that?

I was alright with it until they just dunk it in that white sauce. It probably isn't horrible, it just has so many clashing flavors that it's just pointless.

I mean, I feel like they stopped a little shy of perfection. Grilling the shredded chicken tortilla pizza is all well and good, but they could have battered and fried it a second time to really seal in all the flavors.

The only downside in that is that I probably couldn't shovel it into my mouth fast enough before the lower layers start to get cold.

Texas is home to a lot of non Texans (including myself). Maybe a Californian (a lot of those transplanting here lately) was trying to extend an olive branch to the neighbors and failed miserably. The DIY hack for brisket was easily detected. In all honesty, it looks like it was braised in the oven with a marinade and liquid smoke.

zedprime posted:Do you not season your meat when making sauced BBQ or are you just morally opposed to sauced BBQ. well most bbq sauce is overwhelmingly sweet. I would find it hard to believe anyone could tell the difference between a well seasoned meat coated in the stuff vs non-seasoned meat coated in it. it's used to mask bad cooking not enhance anything.

TBH I probably would -- if tasked with making that type of "BBQ" chicken in the first place -- just because I'm a fiend for seasoning. But in the back of my mind I'd know I'm probably wasting my time. That type of BBQ sauce really drowns out whatever it's mixed with. I'm not against BBQ sauce at all, mind you, it's just one of many points in the video where I'm wondering why they even bothered doing the step before.
