I just remembered something I've been wanting to see again for ages, but haven't been able to find —

It was a commercial for... insurance? I think, and it was pretty unremarkable except for one line, spoken to the camera by the pitchman, and it went something like "This offer is valid in 49 states! Sorry, Tennessee."

Web searches seem to indicate that other people remember this phrase, but no one seems to have preserved the original commercial.

I posted this in other incarnations of this thread. I've been looking for ages for this weird underground movie called Canzo Empyrean. Its about some kind of AIDS crisis wiping out most of humanity and Destro from GI Joe takes over the world cause he has the AIDS cure.

At this point I'm not sure it exists as anything but the trailer, an old website and a bunch of youtube vids that somebody edited into a single 45 minute video. And aside from like 4-5 randos on the internet, nobody seems to have actually seen the movie. But the whole thing also seems really elaborate to be a prank.

Here's the trailer and the 45 minutes of footage. Its all heavily NWS.

A short played before movies in the early/mid 2000s. It was a family of cartoon turtles (or lizards? dinosaurs? something greenish) sitting around a table. The grandmother kept saying of the food "it's dry, it's dry, it's very dry". I saw this at a screening of Aeon Flux in an AMC theater if that helps. Context: my dumb high school friends and I got very drunk (first time for most of us) and we went to the theater. Pretty much all we remember is this short, and that's all we remember of it. It used to be a running gag on Talk Soup based on those types of commercials that would call out specific states as being ineligible. For a lot of them it was because those states had strict gambling laws and the contest technically counted as gambling. I don’t think Tennessee itself had any specific relevance, it just happened to be the state that Talk Soup chose.

Actually, TN had/has some weird tax laws that made it a nightmare to offer certain kinds of financial deals and discount offers. Same as their alcohol laws that prohibit them from selling lighters in liquor stores, or cocktail shakers at Wal-Mart.

I just thought of one I've looked for off/on. Late 80s-early 90s comedy movie about a family that runs a cleaning business, iirc. The only thing that sticks out is there was a character named Roy. The mother/sister/gf said his name with a drawl an stretched out like "Roooooy" whenever they'd address him.

In the present, signs of Susano-oh's manifestation on Earth are beginning to take place, including the shattering of a stone Flayed Colt. Caught in the middle is Takeshi, a young man who is forced to receive stigmata-like marks on his body from the ancient gods; an impending sign that he will soon be reincarnated as Brahman's alter ego, Atman. Meanwhile, the Kikuchi clan is after Takeshi and has a strange interest in the events taking place. The fate of all mankind is at stake; will demons or humans be the victor?

This seems like it will be impossible but more obscure things have come up so why not!
In 1999 my family went on holiday to London and one of the places we went to see was called something like "Museum of the Moving Image". I could be remembering incorrectly but I think it was run by or associated with BAFTA?
As far as I can tell the museum has closed down now.

I remember the exhibits showed lots of famous/culty/artsy shorts like Dali and Warhol. Anyway, one of them was a modern one, might have been crappy 90s compositing, don't think it was CGI per se. A woman woke up and walked around her house and for some reason she could change the furnishings by molding reality to her will? I don't recall what the punchline or conclusion was if any.

It must have been playing on a loop because I the day made a very strong impression on me, but obviously unlike the Warhol shorts I can never find the interior decorating one.

I've got two if anyone can help out.

1. A video of Barry Humphries as Les Patterson telling a joke. A long shaggy dog story about going to a massage parlour for an erotic massage, but mistakenly choosing a legit foot massage place. the woman leave the room to get something, he strips naked and fluffs himself into a proud erection, she comes back into the room and shrieks. "That's not a foot!", she shouts. "No, love, but it's close enough!"

For the life of me, I can't find that particular joke in the chaff of all the Les Patterson stuff on YT.

2. An old image macro, I guess, but a dry and serious one. B&W photo of a smiling middle-aged white man and the quote is something like, "My view of the world is essentially Rawlsian - we should all strive to create a world that we would choose to live in if we didn't know in advance who we would be.:

Sounds like a lot of info, doesn't it? But I can't find it.

Either of those ring bells?
